    I think there’s really unrealistic expectations of mets. I’ll say it again. Weather is always changing and lately it’s wonky. The mets do there best to keep us informed based on the models the best they can. They allllll did so. Daily. Heck, hourly. They let us know about the changes. It changes. Just be glad it’s not .5 or more here. Some people are messed up out west and again, this isn’t over. If we get .25 or close it we could still lose power. All we can do is chill. The whole “bust” thing irritates me.

    That’s subjective too. People in the triangle could lose power for a number of reasons. Thankfully it won’t be because of .5-.8 inches of ice. But it won’t stop trees that are weak from being a problem. Some people will suffer from this even if you don’t. I don’t see this as a forecasting bust. Weather is always changing and thy have kept us informed. Chill.

    Precisely. This isn’t over. Watch temps stay low. All we can do is wait it out and stay as safe as possible.

Today has always been predicted to be the dicey day. Heavier stuff coming. He breaks it down so it’s easily digested.

    Who knows. I’ve been watching what Allan has been posting this morning and replying to other about concerning this and he said it may stay freezing til after heavy precip is out of here in Raleigh.

    Yes and at the same time I’m seeing a lot of mets saying that from the triangle n and w it could stay below freezing until after this is done. I keep saying… words matter. Plus, thy got the temps wrong last night. We weren’t supposed to get below 24 and it was 18 here in nw Raleigh. Thy need to say this is possible and this is possible and we honestly don’t know be prepared for anytime. They can think all they want, but maybe don’t say it all. Same for the mets on tv.

    Raleigh 18-19 degrees sure has been colder than predicted. Mets just said the moisture is building up where it was less and to expect heavier rates soon

    Because they don’t get it. If he’s sayin it’ll all melt, other mets are saying no way. Plus, we don’t know. Maze might should say “may” or there “may be melting”. Words matter. Gotta be careful with the public. These Facebook posts from him have been questionable about his delivery. There’s a vast amount of differing info out there right now between mets in close proximity from one another via in NC and even covering the same cities. It’s wild.

    Yeah. This isn’t helpful or exactly what’s happening or going to happen. It’s distracting and dismissive on the surface at least. People that don’t know anything about weather lurk here and gets them off their guard. I know people are having feelings right now, but it’s not informational and lurkers don’t know the difference between whining and someone giving professional information.

    Davidson NC is having sleet. That’s north of CLT at like 2pm.

    Ummm. Ok. Would be nice, but that’s extreme wishing.

    Typical Maze though. He acts like the possible rain will wash it all away. It might help powerlines. The tide he can get really downplays it and could stop people from prepping.

    Well yeah .38 the “expected” and the possible high end ice is .83. The low end is .27. So… we will see. I don’t want anything but sleet/snow, but we can’t have nice things.

    That’s a nightmare with the accumulated ice and the arctic blast flash freezing anything on the ground. Crap.

He also near the end discussed the euro and how he thinks something is amiss with how it’s missing all the sleet. He said he prefers the gfs at the moment and listed off his reasoning.
