August itself was hot, but not exceedingly dry. We have certainly had drier Augusts in the past. While both Boston and Worcester ended up hotter than average, Worcester actually had more rain than is typical in the eighth month of the year.
My original post was referring to jinxes month to date. Your 30-day doesn't include Friday and Saturday where many spots picked up well over an inch. Kind of hard to be the driest summer ever when August is near normal.
It says they have almost 4 and a 1/2 in at the toland mutual aid station. Do you think that's wrong or is toland a large town?

Not much to blast. People usually don't get too worked up over it being 67 instead of 61 overnight.
