  1. Looks like we are out of the woods here in terms of ice. Drizzling outside and 32 degrees. Went outside and everything is melting and no ice on the paved surfaces. Whether we get any tree ice accumulation remains to be seen.
  2. Maybe the GFS was the best model for this one after all.
  3. Ahhh, well all the more reason to rate this one highly! It should have been your best event of the winter then!
  4. Maybe you crushed it with the January storm, but it hasn't exactly been a winter filled with great events. Getting crushed with snow for a couple hours certainly should rate highly in this crappy winter.
  5. Hah, I can understand being a bit disappointed because the ending was anti-climatic and I'll admit it left a bitter taste in my mouth, but least exciting snow event of the year? It was probably my most exciting. The 2-3 inch/hr rates were awesome!
  6. Yep, got a little sledding in and made a snowman and enjoyed the 90 minute snow downpour, so I got everything I could squeeze out of this event.
  7. Makes more sense for you since you can probably hold below 32 significantly longer than us. Could get slick up there if it gets in soon enough. I will say HRRR wasn't that accurate after say the 13z run or so. Gave us too much snow.
  8. Guess it's time to turn our attention to the late Feb/early March HECS. Or is it back-to-back HECS? LOL.
  9. Dry slot better fill in if the storm is far from over. Not much to the west at the moment and I'm guessing a thinning cloud deck will lead to a bump in temps. I'm already at 30 and hearing the drip-drip.
  10. Ha, yeah who knew the problem was going to be a dryslot and not temps aloft. Seems like we underperformed in the qpf department. Kinda disappointing finish, but it was really fun for a couple of hours this morning. Best two hours of winter I've had this year.
  11. Yep, the 4-6 call really covered it pretty well. Have to give credit where it is due.
  12. Still holding onto light snow here. Small and big flakes mixed in with each other. Hoping for a nice grand finale to hit half a foot before the sleet begins. Probably won't beat my January storm total, but this is by far my favorite storm of this winter. The snow this morning for 90 minutes or so was ridiculous.
  13. Surprised those of you reporting a change to sleet aren't being scolded by snowman. You should make up that you are currently getting 3 inch per hour rates with 40 mph winds. Stop being so negative.
  14. I guess you missed all my other posts this morning. Also, that post wasn't negative. It's a fact. It's actually positive depending on your location. mappy and PSU won't think it's negative, but sure, people farther south might. Believe it or not, I don't enter the data into the HRRR model.
  15. First major change in HRRR this run. Accumulations cut back and the heaviest shifted north into mappyville.
  16. Looks like heaviest returns have shifted into Southern PA now.
  17. Still looks like the NAM changes everyone over between noon and 1 pm or so.
  18. Latest HRRR looks great. Most of Central MD should approach half a foot.
  19. Just watching traffic cams on TV and 10 minutes ago, most major highways in the area were wet and they are pretty much all snow covered now.
  20. Heaviest snow of the winter. Maybe heaviest snow since the blizzard of 16. It's just pouring snow. This has got to be close to two inches an hour.
  21. Lost my heavy snow band. Just evaporated. Back to light snow. Looks like good returns building to the southwest.
  22. Ripping good right now and HRRR's latest run looks really good for Central MD, especially Western Hoco/Moco.
