  1. Yeah, I've always noticed that a little frost doesn't do much damage to the vegetable garden. It usually takes an actual freeze to end the growing season. We have a frost advisory here and the temp could get down to about 36 tonight, but I'm not too worried. My pole lima beans are producing like crazy right now, and I'm hoping they can keep going for at least 2 more weeks. Tomatoes, peppers and eggplants are still producing decently too. The light frost threat tonight shouldn't be a problem.
  2. Yeah, next week looking like an amazing week with that ridge. 70 degree weather all week. Could be the last week of the season for outdoor activities in consistently warm temps.
  3. Looking like high temps upper 60s to around 70 all next week. Very mild pattern except for a brief cool shot at the end of this week.
  4. Looks as if this is mainly a morning event monday? NAM is showing very heavy rain during the morning, but only a little light rain during the afternoon.
  5. It looks as if you'll have to go well to the north and west to see frost with the late week cool shot. Lows here are expected to be in the low-mid 40s. Nothing to write home about for October. Then a mild pattern for awhile, as you mentioned. So thankfully crops will be safe for awhile. My vegetable garden is still producing very well.
  6. Having some indoor dining helps some, although 25% capacity doesn't help a lot. But Connecticut is increasing their indoor capacity to 75%. The 50% capacity indoor dining never lead to an increase in cases, so that's a good thing. Hopefully the weather will cooperate to allow restaurants to do outdoor dining for quite awhile though. I think a lot of people are fine with sitting in 50 to 60 degree temps, so October and November should be ok. You just wear a little more. It will be tough though when the much colder weather comes in winter. Not many people will sit in 30 degrees. Hopefully by then NY and NJ will be able to increase indoor capacity like CT is. And perhaps heating for outdoors.
  7. Amy Freeze is the worst weather person I've ever seen on tv. So many mistakes that it's mind-boggling. Today she keeps talking about how saturday is going to be a beautiful sunny day with low humidity, yet every time the 7 day forecast is put up it has a thunderstorm posted for saturday. She is so dumb that she keeps missing that miatake. And I've seen this type of mistake happen so many times with her. She is a complete and utter joke. What a difference from the high quality forecasts from Lee Goldberg and Jeff Smith. I wonder if someone on channel 7 will finally catch the mistake and take that thunderstorm off of saturday the next time they show the 7 day forecast. This is a joke.
  8. Yep I felt my house shake a little while ago.
