  6. But he can walk to the BLE and be UPTOWN in 10mins! Panthers,Hornets, and the other direction takes him to UNCC. THE 49ers football team has actually caught on well in the area! But the ocean is nice too!
  7. Yep! I lived in a shotgun appt that was $350 a month. Of course the walls were like paper. And the water in the tub rarely warmed up, and was always tea colored!! Lol But it was the place to be, I could walk 2 blocks to everything! Blows me away to see homes selling for 800k+ now!!

  9. Composting toilets don't count! '-)
  10. Is that the yr Raleigh had like 20+"? And they weren't even forecasting a snow event? I was living in NoDa in CLT. I worked 10miles away. Had 9" at my house, 1" at my job! N. Tryon was a nightmare!!
  11. Mooresville seems to be just enough North to fare well with accumulation. My mother lived in Rowan Co, with a Mooresville address near Patterson Farm, and always got lots of snow!! Enjoy!
  12. Checkout the Brasstown Bald Snow Invasion live cam in N.Georgia!
  13. Concord current OBS Temp-43F DP-30 Cloud cover-76% Light SW breeze
  14. Warm nose , from my experience , is an issue in the southern piedmont from the SC/NC line up to roughly China Grove. Salisbury normally manages to stay mostly snow! BUT, as another poster said, heavy precip at the onset will make all the difference!
  15. Dipped to 26 in Concord and still frosty outside!
  16. I'm pretty sure this storm in 2004 was our last SNOWMAGEDDON!! Anyone else remember this one?
  17. Soooo overdue for 6" plus snow in and around CLT!!
  18. South as in where? Charlotte, Lancaster? How far Soutb?
  19. How so? Aree models shifting snow more to the S? As in Charlotte?
  20. Winter wx is near impossible to nail down in NC and SC. Normally it becomes a nowcasting situation.
  21. I live in Concord (about 20miles ne of Charlotte) Durham is where I would live if I had to move to the Triangle. Not assuming you are liberal, but Durham is. (often voting more (D) then even San Francisco County .CA.) A fact in which I love to share with my friends on the other coast. Durham has a great Arts scene for a city it's size with a beautiful pac. So yeah, you will enjoy your year down South! BTW. Charlotte is just a short 2hr drive from Durham, and has NFL, NBA, and MLS. (starting in 2022). You will find plenty(too many) of fans from NE acting as obnoxious as we love them to be when the Patriots are in town. BTW part 2. yonder is used mostly by native Appalachian people. You won't hear it often in Durham. Lastly In the South "Tea" does not mean to grab the biscuits because it's 2pm. Tea is a beverage that better be in all native North Carolinians fridge. How to prepare the "House wine of the South" Bring 5 cups of water to a boil. Remove pot from burner. Add 2-3 cups(you read that right) of sugar to hot water then 3-4 tea bags. Let steep for 2-3 hours. Remove tea bags. Squeeze out tea bags if you prefer a stronger tea taste. Stir to ensure all sugar is dissolved. Pour into a gallon container, add water and stir. Lemon is optional. Welcome to North Carolina!
  22. Best live cam to watch storm?? Don't care where!
