Winter Weather Advisory in effect until 10 am EST Saturday... The National Weather Service in Blacksburg has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for light freezing rain and freezing drizzle... which is in effect until 10 am EST Saturday. * Locations... higher east facing slopes of the Blue Ridge near the Blue Ridge Parkway. * Hazard types... occasional light freezing rain and freezing drizzle. * Accumulations... less than a tenth of an inch of ice accretion... mostly on elevated objects. * Timing... continuing into Saturday morning. * Impacts... untreated roads will be slick and hazardous. Icing may cause a few power outages or cause tree limbs to snap. * Winds... northeast up to 5 mph. * Temperatures... in the upper 20s to lower 30s.
