I just got back from SW raleigh / Cary (Penny Rd and Grantham Lake Rd, really...) Man, I am glad my house was not in the path of a mile wide tornado. There is inflow damage starting about 3 miles away from the TOR.

Fishel had a cool image on the news of how the pressure dropped as the tornado went through Ben Martin Elementary School in Cumberland Cty. Cannot find it though.

Also as this is personal accounts, here is the location of my Dad's house in perspective of the basic tornado path per the NWS RAH document. He's ok, house wasn't damaged just the fence, deck, and about 6 very large oak and pine trees down in the backyard. Neighbors homes can't say the same for. He's lucky. He ran inside before it hit, he was on his way home and saw the funnel cloud and telephone blones collapse like dominos.

Blue = Dad's house

Green = Cardinal Grove, hit hard.

Yellow = Stoney Brook Trailer Park w/ fatalities.

I feel very lucky that it went up 401 instead of continuing up US1. I'm pretty certain my home would have been in the path if it did.
