  1. I'm missing out on the fun because I'm in Oklahoma now. It really sucks when Brownsville, TX gets snow before Norman, OK. We're like 20F colder in winter on average!
  2. The Bering and Chukchi Seas apparently have unprecedented levels of open water for this time of year. https://insideclimatenews.org/news/30112017/arctic-sea-ice-extent-record-chukchi-bering-sea-alaska-ocean?
  3. They look pretty close to average for central Oklahoma overall.
  4. After a dry start to March, we've had some nice rains the past few weeks. There was supposedly hail in Norman today, but I was in class at the time. It hit 91 in March but hasn't gotten above 84 yet this April.
  5. It's been really warm this month and some of the trees have started to bud and leaf. But I haven't seen many flowers on campus yet. I guess they're waiting for the last freeze.
  6. Well the Arctic sea ice extent is close to 3rd place now.
  7. It looks pretty warm here in Oklahoma. The average for this time of year is like 54/31.
  8. It's currently in the mid 40s and sunny here. If it's not going to snow, that's the kind of winter weather I prefer.
  9. I'm sort of in the middle range. 2.8" of frozen precipitation is good, but when places 15 mi to my NW get 7", it's disappointing.
  10. I only got 2.8", while I was expecting 4-8". It's disappointing, but I know those in the Raleigh area did even worse.
  11. The nice snow I was getting just changed back to sleet.
  12. I'm still concerned about the warmth here in Chapel Hill. As of right now, all models give me a good dose of snow/sleet, but if this thing trends NW any more, I'll have the same problems those in Wake County are having. I still thing the Greensboro to Petersburg jackpot seems likely.
  13. I'm honestly more afraid of being too far NW than too far SE with this system. I'm afraid there will be more southeast trends in the future, leaving me with little snow.
  14. That's why I'm glad I live in Chapel Hill (when I'm not at college). It gives me just a little more room than RDU. But sometimes I wish I lived in Hillsborough or somewhere in northern Orange County so I'd do even better.
  15. Lol it has a low of 0 with a wind chill of -15F for Raleigh. I believe that's wind chill warning criteria.
  16. The Euro must have been pretty crazy. There were nine pages of posts in the three hours since I last checked the forum.
  17. I'm scared of a possible NW trend giving me rain.
  18. I sort of wish I could go to sleep and wake up Thursday. The not knowing what to expect is exciting but stressful. I keep having to prepare myself for a complete failure of a storm (i.e. no frozen precipitation whatsoever).
  19. We had some fog and rain the past few days but now it looks like it's back to clear and sunny. I wish we had more clouds and precipitation in the winter.
  20. It's been very windy the fast two days. Yesterday the wind made it hard to run or bike south. Today it wasn't quite as bad but the wind chill could be annoying. I'm looking forward to what looks to be our first freeze tonight.
