  1. Got a quarter inch of rain between some showers late yesterday and another one this afternoon. Plenty humid here, dp is 74.
  2. As long as you're taking care of it overall I wouldn't worry about it. It's the way of things. If they wanna push the issue, buy them a bag of grass seed. It would be a little like complaining cuz there are mosquitos now whereas there weren't any in the spring.
  3. Funny you mention that, I heard one twice yesterday, 1st of the season, but so far none today.
  4. Well it's something I guess, along with the 40 drops of rain. Getting a surprise bonus round here:
  5. Got 0.18" of rain earlier and had one huge ctg bolt of lightning less than a quarter mile away, even scared the birds. Had to be 4 to 6 inch diameter.
  6. Yeah I'm hearing an occasional distant rumble of thunder from out that way, although it looks like it might be re-forming farther north. I looked at Mt. Holly's severe t'storm warning list, they all had hail, penny sized (Binghamton), quarter sized (LWX), half dollar sized (State College) and ping pong ball sized (Mt. Holly). Although the State College and Mt. Holly warnings were for the same storm.
  7. Cool. And nice breeze here too. When I was growing up all you could get in PA was sparklers. Although in the back of Popular Science there were classifieds, and once in a while there'd be ads for kits to make stuff. For $1.00 you could get a catalog and 100 feet of underwater fuse, lol. Edit - nice lightning bug turnout tonight!
  8. Accuweather thinks it's extremely humid inside, lol. I get the fireworks thing totally, but it can get annoying unless you're setting some off yourself. We used to go to open spaces, didn't want to bounce a rocket off someone's house. Also the good stuff used to be not legal in PA, not sure about now, I know it's gotten more lenient.
  9. Currently 84F here, and sporting a not so sporty dp of 74.
  10. Picked up 0.74" of rain last night and this morning, puts the June total at 4.90" so far!
  11. And if memory serves, you like a nice Hammock too, which would put you in the 4H club.
  12. Likewise. If it's for a few days and there's a cold front (preferably with showers or tstorms) on the horizon, with a meaningful drop in temps and humidity (more than upper 80s for a day, lol) I find it easier to take. Keep it moving, in other words.
  13. I'm with you on that, although we both know it's not realistic to expect it to hold. As long as it can hang around, I welcome it. I think RedSky (or a family member) wants it hot, and he's trying to reverse psychology it into existence, lol. It's a pretty safe bet they'll get their wish come July, but all things are possible.
  14. Interestingly, that little skinny area of orange to the NNW of here is putting out some thunder. Currently 71F and cloudy, pretty comfortable out.
  15. Still 60 here at 1 am, but the dewpoint is 34, lol.
  16. I made it to 52 here last night, so I'd think you most likely made it to at least 51. 64F here currently, today was awesome.
  17. Picked up 0.43" of rain earlier today, 4.16" for the month. Not a bad day out at all.
  18. Severe t'storm warning here, mainly heavy rain at the moment, with some thunder and lightning. 67F currently.
  19. Yeah I put on a sweatshirt last night, although I'm guessing that down south here I'll still be in shorts and tee shirts come mid September. But I wouldn't turn down cool weather then either.
  20. Got 1.25" here in multiple rounds early this morning, including a nice thunderclap that woke us up around 5 am. Gets the rainfall total up to 2.73" since last Tuesday, and 3.48" for the month. Family member is happy! 66F currently.
  21. Looking at the mesoscale models and Mt. Holly's forecast discussion, looks like maybe some early morning action, then a lull until late in the pm, so you might be okay. Sounds like it will get pretty muggy too.
  22. Hey Mike, I enjoyed reading your near term forecast discussion just now, and I noticed last night and again tonight this new guy, RCM. And it dawned on me, that's gotta be Raymond C. Martin. Hot dang Ray, welcome back again! I realize I'm out on a limb here and maybe my extrapolation is off, but nah, lol.
  23. Wound up with 1.23" overnight, and with the 0.25 from Tuesday night adds up to, wait for it, 1.48" this week. Plant life is happy!
  24. Have the tail end of it moving through here now, lots of thunder and lightning and about a half inch of rain in 20 minutes, not too much wind though. Overnight total here so far is 1.05", a nice soaker! Currently 70F.
  25. Been nice and showery here with some cloud lightning, including one that was right overhead and very bright, with the long rolling thunder that rumbles off into the distance. So far about 0.20" for this evening. Nice out (for sitting on the porch)!
