    GFS is a sleet fest for most of NC.

    Really. This one might be the one that breaks me. It's stupid to waste time looking at something that had so much agreement on the models for a big snowstorm here 4 days out only for it to change in less than 24 hours 3 days out.

    Euro had me with 15 inches of snow and then went to freezing rain less than 24 hours later. I was more than barely in the snow line.

    This was the Euro run yesterday morning. Today it doesn't have any snow at all for NC. It might have been the first one to make the change, but don't tell me it doesn't suck, too, when it goes from 15 inches of snow to freezing rain in less than 24 hours only 3 to 4 days out.

    Well, this is not how I wanted things to go. Sucks you can't depend on the models outside 3 days. Even the king Euro went from a foot of snow to freezing rain in less than a day.

    GFS has a little break in NC and then another round of precip which is mostly freezing rain.

    Snow line moves up to the NC/VA border by 93.

    GFS splits NC right in half with snow to the north and ice to the south at 84.

    ICON looked like it ticked a bit south to me.

    I know people say Euro is the king, but it kind of sucks if it shows a foot of snow for a lot of people in NC 4-5 days out only to jump to freezing rain 3-4 days out. Maybe it got it "right" before the GFS did, since the GFS is still showing snow changing to a mix for some in NC, but the Euro was showing a huge snowstorm just like the GFS was less than 36 hours ago.

    That is what I am hoping for in my backyard. And front yard, too. Would love to get a good thump of snow to begin with and if it does change hopefully it will be a mix of snow and sleet with no freezing rain.

    Whatever happens will happen. We have no co trol over it. It's like watching your favorite sports teams. Sometimes they win in a blow out, sometimes they get blown out. Sometimes they win a close one, sometimes they lose at the buzzer.
