At this point, it's hard to imagine a way that we will have a crippling ice storm. The big surprise with this event is the lack of precipitation, especially in light of what even the ensembles were showing just a couple of days ago. There will be one more burst late this afternoon and this evening, and there will likely be some ice buildup on trees and power lines. But will it be enough to make the lights go out everywhere? I don't think so. Obviously I will watch this very carefully until the last drop falls late this evening, but for now, the worst case scenario appears to have passed us by. Stay tuned!
