NAM does have a line of freezing rain in the foothills at hour 36 that changes to rain as it moves across NC, but not anywhere near the amount of freezing rain the HRRR is showing.
And before it looked locked in for a major ice storm it looked locked in for a major snow storm until it changed to the major ice storm just 24 hours later 3 days out. I hope it isn't a major ice storm, but this storm has just been so annoying.
WRAL met Mike Maze posted a video on Facebook talking about the models showing less precip, ice totals less on the models, and maybe changing to rain Sunday night.
Just watched Greg Fishel's latest video on Facebook. He mentioned the heavier precip shifting north and starting out as sleet in the Triangle. It seemed he thought south of the Triangle would have more freezing rain.
