This is going to be a heck of a NAM run. This puts nearly all the models into consensus, right? Is there still an outlier?
Yes, except colder. At least for the upstate folks..

At 2 pm, Tampa had a temperature of 93°. A short time earlier, it had reached 94°, which ties the daily record high for October 1, which was set last year.
Curious why Tampa is mentioned so often here?

I guess they could, however if they let their staff go for the season, and start the process of ‘closing up’ things, they might not. My guess is that Wolf would NOT open regardless, with Beech more likely to consider re-opening. Just a guess though..

Just saw where Wolf Laurel Ski Resort in Mars Hill has closed for the season, and Beech Mountain to close Saturday. I look for Sugar to follow suite as well. Unfortunate for those businesses, and will be even more tragic when we see mid 20s sometime in March., as the apple and peach trees are blooming, I would assume..

And on that note, Myrtle beach will take its D for the winter ( trace snow and good cold ) and call it a season. On to the severe weather!
Lol,and you give that a 'D'?? Listen, Myrtle Beach hit their average with a trace this year! I'm afraid you'll need to move north quite a bit, or you'll be disappointed each and every winter down there..

You raise a good point, even I saw a few flakes before Thanksgiving (first time in my life I have witnessed that). I think the main reason there is so much gnashing is because we are snow hungry, most of us are way overdue (myself included) for a major winter storm that dumps several feet of snow IOBYs.
If you think about it, the pattern goes back to LAST winter, Savannah got snow showers around St. Patrick’s Day for crying out loud (I was there). Then our summer was cooler than the last few years m and rainy, IMBY anyway, then followed up with the pattern flip at the end of October that set us up. Keep in mind, this is a LA NIÑA winter, just imagine if we had this set up with a weak El Niño...
If you are waiting for a storm to dump several feet of snow in Orangeburg, SC, your wait might be quite long, because that's not happening. I've lived in the upstate of SC all 47 years of my life, and have only seen a 12"+ snow (1988). Some peoples' expectations are hilarious to say the least...

For the aatlanta crowd....I've got a flight out of Atl on Saturday at 1. Gonna leave Greenville Friday around noon and stay at a hotel right beside the airport so I'm right there Sat morning. How the de-icing equipment? Any chance I get out of Atl Saturday? Headed to Tampa for the game.....

Miss that guy! Do you know what he is doing now? I know when he left Fox 21, it wasn't for another Met job anywhere...
