Glad I didn't take you up on your wager, this is looking like 5"+ when all is done.

Worcester, PA. 4.75 "' Some flakes are over 2" diameter. Not sure I have ever seen any so large (and I am not young). Beautiful picture outside.
I was just about to say, these are some of the biggest flakes I’ve ever seen.

Thumping cotton balls. No wind, coming straight down, 32F/DP 31F.

Going back to last Sunday, there were only 2 days this week w/o snow falling—Thursday & Saturday. Not too shabby.

I think what happened is a lot of these maps came out yesterday when NAM was going nutty. It’s a weekend so they dont update them. Not like you can expect them to change every 6 hours. I’d be Absolutely stunned shocked if Philly got 8”, there’s just no way. This is a 3-5” event with Isolated 6-7” in NJ imo
Yeah, they probably sent the weekend intern out on a Starbucks run instead of updating the wx graphics.

Ch6 seems a little high for my backyard, but I'll take it. My bar is set at 3".

Considering this event was DOA on Wed, any snow is bonus snow at this point.

Looking like another long duration winter event is taking shape for next weekend. Still a ways out but major signal for multiple waves to ride along the Arctic boundary. Set up screams interior snow, while the coastal plain deals with ice. All depends where that boundary sets up though and that won't be modeled correctly until we are much closer. Pretty good look though.
Looks very 1994ish from this far out.

Interesting thread.
It's another example why we no longer have red taggers in our forum.

My flurries have turned into light snow
-
Fresh dusting overnight, flurries now, 30F.
That’s 4 consecutive days with flakes in the air.

My mail is horrible, only get delivery maybe 3 days a week. Many of my bill have arrived after the due date. Yes, I have some automatically withdrawn, but I like reviewing my cc bills to make sure I'm not being incorrectly charged.
Back to weather, nice snow shower atm, 34F.

Got 3" of snow here Sunday, then 1.25 of sleet etc. From midnight to 2 pm yesterday, then 2" from 2 pm till midnight, and another 3" since then, for a total of 9.25", although it measures 7.5" compacted . It's beautiful this morning, light to moderate rates, snow caked on everything. The storm that keeps on giving, even if yesterday we only got in the good banding for about an hour. I'm enjoying this a whole lot!
We need pics of the sleet pile!
These piles will stick around for a long time with all that ice mixed in and a potentially cold Feb on the way.

Approx 13"-15" here in North Wales from eyeballing.
Really not sure how anyone can give a super accurate accumulation (within tenths) considering it's such a long event, sleet and wind. Snowboard or not...
28F / light-mod snow
About the same here. Maybe we didn’t get 20+ inches, so what? It’s been snowing/sleeting nonstop for nearly 48 hrs with more to fall. Pretty awesome storm as far as I’m concerned.
-
I haven't measured, but I think it's safe to say I got more snow in the last hour than I did all last winter. Mod snow with tiny flakes, 29F.
-
Nobody move, nobody touch a thing! I think I'm changing over for real this time. Still hearing pingers mixed in, though. 30F
-
Snow mixing in here, too. But I've been fooled several times today only to flip back to sleet. Hearing RedSky has IP isn't encouraging.

It beats 33 and rain, I'm good.

Looks like it's trying to changeover here, seeing an occasional fattie mixing in, 29F.
Shoveled twice already, wanted to get that layer of sleet up.

I like how there's precipitation down by Balt/DC. Weren't they supposed to be in a dry slot this morning?

I’m gonna say Feb 2010. As I recall we were under a winter storm warning for the current storm and a winter storm watch for the one a few days later.
I also recall a flooding rain storm the week after the ‘96 blizzard.
