Storms dropped my temp down to 66F. AC off, windows open.
-
Something just popped up overhead, heavy downpour with gusty winds.

Mt. Holly’s AFD, you love to see it. Starting Friday beautifully with afternoon storms likely, followed by a perfect summer weekend, unless you're cloudy cool mcbirds. Early June may win most enjoyable weather award. Just hope the storms pan out.Mike calling out Birds (probably me as well)!
Short range mesos don't look overly impressed with storms this evening, but mother nature is gonna do what's she's gonna do.

Lightning bugs are liking the warmer nights last couple of days - real nice turnout tonight!
Now we listen for the first cicadas, probably in another 4 weeks.

That was one of the more intense storms in some time. Winds were just your typical thunderstorm gusts but the rain rates were torrential, picked up a quick .50” in 20 minutes or so.
Also, that’s the first time I’ve seen hail here since 2009 or so. Finally, lost power for a few minutes.

Pea sized hail!!

Doesn't seem to be much convection with what's rolling through now. Not much sun today and I imagine the current showers aren't helping with instability. But what do I know?
Currently rain, 72F/DP 71F

Hearing thunder from a little cell trying to get its act together over me.

Couldn’t stand it any longer, took a hose to the car to wash off all the pollen. Driveway covered in green brine.

Dry as a bone here. Next!
-
Whole lot of nothing here, just clouds and a breeze. Would be happy with just a shower to wash the pollen off the car.

Some are now trying to recast Winter 2023-2024 as "one of the coldest on record" in the Northeastern U.S. In fact, Winter 2023-2024 edged out Winter 2001-2002 as the warmest on record in the Northeast. It was also among the least snowy ones on record. As a result, Boston reached 816 consecutive days without 4" daily snowfall today (old record: 711 days).
My historically low heating oil bill this past winter would disagree with the above statement.

Certainly not hot but not chilly either. Old folk wandering around the grocery store wearing parkas like there’s an incoming MECS.

Near the top of the chart for cloudiest May after already securing the cloudiest January this year. I'm sure it's all perfectly normal. Weather World says this pattern continues through mid June. Year without a summer?
PLEEZE!!!
This spring reminds me of 2003...stayed damp & chilly well into mid June that year.

As a fall & winter person, anything over 78F is extreme in my book. Speaking of which...
Currently 78F/DP 54F. Last nice day for awhile. Enjoy!
