  1. I know everyone is waiting on the edge of their seat for an update on my toe, so here we go. . Antibiotics have definitely helped, it’s improved quite a bit. Still very sore and one spot in particular is still pretty tender to touch. I can walk normally now, but if shoes are too tight on the top of the toe, it hurts pretty bad. Scheduling an appointment with a podiatrist to take a look at it, because no doubt it’s coming back when the nail gets long enough. I also figured the antibiotics would be a quick fix and I’d be back to 100% shortly, not the case though
  2. My parents had to put down our family dog today. Had him since I was in 6th grade... I’m 27 now. He lived a long life, but never easy
  3. I think you’d be better off getting in your car, driving down the steeet, and dropping cash out the window.
  4. A lot of the big chains are now coming out and saying they will no longer require masks, and will follow state and local ordinances. A buddy of mine the other day texted when the news broke “I’ll go anywhere that doesn’t require a mask”. It’s simply going to become bad business to have mandatory mask policies. And above all else, these places care about $$
  5. It’s definitely dry here, we could use some rain.
  6. I bought this. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B005H3N43K?ref=ppx_pt2_mob_b_prod_image
  7. Those portable air conditioners are junk. From my experience, they don’t work half as good as a window unit. What would people recommend for securing a window unit to vinyl windows? Seems like drilling into the vinyl is a no go
  8. What the hell is 12% “slippage”
  9. When I look at my claims, it’s broken down as follows: Amount charged by healthcare provider: $270 Amount allowed by blue cross: $114 What would my cost be if I switched to the saver PPO with the HSA. Would I be paying the 270 or 114 towards meeting my 4K deductible?
  10. Thanks. Yeah for my wife and I the deductible will be $4k and the company contributes 1k through the same way you described... every pay period through the year. Looks like it’s just copays once the deductible is met. I don’t think I’d come close to reaching the out of pocket maximum, which is like 13 grand. It would take a lot of co pays to make up another 9 thousand lol. I guess even if you get whacked early on in the year, you’re still paying less in the long run.
  11. Anyone here use a health savings account? (HSA). It’s open enrollment for my work right now and I’m thinking of changing plans. I’m on a PPO right now and the costs are outrageous. The plan I’m looking at is a saver PPO. The per pay period cost is 1/3 of my current plan. The deductible is a lot higher.... but the place I work contributes money to the hsa as well as what you contribute. After the yearly deductible is met, co pays are also less. baaically, the cost of the plan per pay period... plus the $4000 deductible is cheaper than what I’m paying for the year right now. Just wondering if their is any hidden tricks that wouldn’t make it worth it
  12. Amazon reviews storm damage now? ( this is a joke, obviously. I know you work for channel 7 now)
  13. That’s good. That was another policy that has t been rooted in science for many months now. Like the covid monster lurking on the handle to your shopping cart.
  14. I filed my taxes early on in Feb.... with the new unemployment tax refund, we are supposed to be getting the tax back for all the unemployment my wife collected. Allegedly, you don’t need to file a correction, they will automatically be issuing to people who it’s owed too.
  15. I mean, waiting until May 29th to jump in line with the CDC is bad... but you could live in California, where Gavin Newson just said they would keep mask mandate until June 15th.
  16. I work at a college, I think the testing cost them somewhere north of 5 million dollars this year? I find it hard to believe places like colleges and other businesses will continue to pay for testing come the fall.
  17. I won’t freak out. We should also stop testing fully vaccinated people. It really doesn’t matter if those folks are positive or not
  18. The amount of people on Twitter saying this is a bad move astounds me. If you want to continue wearing a mask, you’re more than welcome too, I don’t get the angst
  19. Sounds like all restrictions ending on the 29th... not sure why the delay... but whatever
  20. Oh I’m sure I would.... I just can’t bring myself to go near it
  21. Warmth doesn’t look that impressive locally. Upper 70s
  22. Thanks... just ordered it.... might give it a go once the infection gets under control. My wife wanted to take a pin to it . I said do you want the whole neighborhood to hear me scream?
  23. Oh yeah, you have a link to something similar? That sounds like something I could use
