  1. Was just looking back at pics from last October 30th… pretty wild event… several inches of snow and even some sticking to pavement. Feels like this year couldn’t be any more different
  2. LOL… yeah… it seems pretty straightforward. Of course I have a Bradford white with an integrated anode so it’s more complicated, but I’m buying a sharkbite connection and just cutting the pipe. The reviews are really good, especially for people with smelly hot water from wells
  3. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07TSL3V6M?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_image anyone use this, or know anyone who has? as everyone knows, I’ve been battling my well water since we moved in. My hot water reeks, and my cold water seems fine. I was told to replace the hot water tank anode rod, as that can cause the smell, as it erodes quickly on well water.
  4. I’d prefer not to have it obviously, but it definitely blends in and looks better than other weeds. Unless you are standing in my yard, it’s really hard to tell
  5. “Back pain” someone smells a lawsuit!
  6. Was 34 when I left this morning… hint of frost on the stairs… but slick.
  7. I didn’t even have to think about touching my heat… was 70 in the house still this morning. Built in 2018 FTW
  8. I think I’m going to try Lesco next year… and it is indeed full sun… almost all day. It worked out with all the rain this year, but when we return to Stein next season, it’ll need a ton of water.
  9. Not great, but not bad. Considering this was all weeds and sand when I moved in, and I couldn’t afford to hire someone to do any of the work, I’m fairly pleased with it. I have a wicked clover problem.
  10. Looks like next weekend; early next week could feature some pretty cool temps
  11. After getting like 5” of snow last October, I’m not discounting anything at this point. We’ve had some early snows here recently. Last year and NOV 18 come to mind
  12. We will be formally stealing everyone’s snow at this gathering
  13. There’s no doubt some good people are stand up business owners. I just think we’ve reached this point for a reason, and all the blame can’t lay at the feet of the employee. It’s easy to say people don’t want to work because they made some money during the pandemic on unemployment, but I think it’s much more complicated than that
  14. No, but the rise in wages has not followed a similar path that it did years ago, that’s not debatable. Gone are the days when mom could stay at home with 6 kids on pa’s salary from the hardware store.
  15. I kind of agree. It’s hard to feel bad for the sob stories of these businesses who have been paying people dirt wages for decades. If wages increased over time, this wouldn’t be an issue. And to top it all off, most of those places don’t over vacation or sick time, and intentionally skirt hour rules to avoid offering health insurance.
  16. It doesn’t look overly cool moving forward. It’s almost the second half of October, would be nice to get a few cool shots.
