  1. I work in mosquito control for the state and we were sampling larvae in a swamp and when we’re walking out, I turned my head to avoid a branch and a small twig from another tree perfectly went right into my ear. It sent a jolt through my whole body lol. Just one of those weird things, probably couldn’t replicate it again if I tried.
  2. I recall many memorial days that were pretty warm/hot. Memorial Day on is summer.
  3. Yes. I’m wearing an earplug while showering. It actually doesn’t look too bad, it’s not inflamed and there isn’t any blood or anything. Ill probably schedule an appointment next week to have them take a look. My sister in law who’s a nurse advised me against going to an urgent care or anything right now. She said there is nothing they will do, and they do not preemptively treat for an infection, so no point. Im going to keep an eye on it the next few days, if any hints of infection start forming, I’ll go immediately to get an antibiotic.
  4. Had a freak accident yesterday, a twig stuck in my ear. Sure enough, my wife looked at it with a scope today, and there are 2 perorations in the ear drum. What was the healing like? Supposedly there really isn’t anything to do for it, unless it gets infected or doesn’t heal after a while.
  5. Lol at some Of the posts in here. It’s definitely greening up in a lot of SNE. It hasn’t been a bad March, all things considered. We were swimming in my family pool before Memorial Day most years growing up. Maybe if you like the water 80+, it’s not great, but otherwise, meh, it’s good to go. Some of you people act like you live in the Swiss Alps.
  6. What on earth would cause perfect punch holes in spots on my lawn? It literally looks like it was core aerated
  7. Charlie baker signaled he’d more than likely vote it through. Its laughable to hear the democratic opposition in Mass saying it’s a “gimmick” and doesn’t provide real relief. Such a tone deaf comment right now with prices of everything soaring. If you can save families 20-30 bucks a week on gas, why not?
  8. I’m pretty sure some New England states have massive surplus right now, including Mass
  9. Spiked all the shrubs today. Didn’t have enough to do the trees, ordered more. The azalea that was picked clean has buds on it; so that is promising
  10. If we can get a half decent day in the next few weekend I’ll be edging the beds
  11. They are… the recommend spiking twice per year, I’m going to drop them in as soon as they come in later this week. Im going to be pretty upset if I have to replace plants. I’ve spent a crap ton of money on plants in my first 3 years here and I was looking forward to just watching the stuff grow
  12. So is it too early to put fertilizer spikes in for the struggling bushes? Or can I throw them in this week
  13. Thanks, I’ll get some spikes and spike them all, I usually do that every year, but I’ll do it a bit earlier now. And Hoth, you’re right, it is a boxwood. That’s my mistake
  14. so the above picture is of a holly type shrub. Is that going to make it? Deer got at it another holly that the deer got at a bit. Why is the top turning a yellowish color? You can see a bit further down on the left. The rest of it looks fine. and finally, this is like a Rhododendron type plant that flowers in the spring. Once again, deer got at it. There are still some leaves, but it looks pretty crappy. Is that a goner?
  15. Yeah that’s true, I’m not dealing with people and that’s obviously a huge difference
