Probably from peoples immune system not being as sharp as before pandemic. Masks, sanatizer, lockdowns turned the immune systems off a bit.

Thats to bad. Does the dad have comorbidities or vaccinated do you know of? Although terrible that 5 month old went to hospital i cant say its a suprise. A cold/flu can send any child that young to hospital. Their immune systems havent yet developed.

The vaccinated can still cause a new varient since they infected. Vaccines will never beat the virus. Everyone including yourself will deal with the virus the rest of your life. The sooner you accept it the easier life will become.
