  1. As I've mentioned before, I try to be as balanced and moderate as possible about things. I refused to be bullied into doing something, but at the same time have been very careful and thoughtful with interactions. I've been doing research and having some very good, honest conversations with some friends who I respect very much....some of whom are pretty traditional conservatives and HAVE been vaccinated. They made some very valid points after I ASKED for their opinions and wisdom about the vaccine. This is a very difficult decision for me, but I believe it's time.
  2. Going to make an appointment to get the vaccine shot tomorrow or Wednesday. In being transparent, I'm totally nervous about it. I know it's "not a big deal" to many, but I have always struggled with putting new things in my body. My immune system tends to be one that doesn't respond well to medications and tests...I'm always one of the "rare cases" with an odd response to things...
  3. Oh, come on...stop using the word "warm." It was HOT. Period.
  4. Hopefully the backbone of summer is BROKEN....and we are done with days and days of Mid 80s to lower 90s. Sure, we will most likely have some occasional days of 80s, but hoping the next week of 70s is the start of journey into Fall.
  5. Haha...I fully expect mid to upper 80s for the Hellmouth known as Syracuse.
  6. I feel like EVERY time I look at the radar this summer Southern Ontario is getting thunderstorms. It's about as guaranteed as Sizzlercuse making it 5 degrees above forecasted highs every day...
  7. This part right here....made me sick...and some people STILL won't heed the warnings... The current track is going to bring UNSURVIVABLE surge up Barataria and Terrebonne Bays. Much of coastal LA is just marsh so this surge will penetrate well inland and unless you are within the Hurricane Risk Reduction System you are putting your life in danger and do not expect to receive any help if you are caught and cut off. This includes both west and east of the mouth of the MS River in SELA.
  8. Yep. That's why my friends cancelled at the last minute their trip to see family they haven't seen in 2 years in Canada. They were concerned they wouldn't be able to get back in until quarantining another 2 weeks if testing positive.
  9. Yikes! It's things like this that remind me of why I will never live in Hurricane zones, below sea level, on earthquake faults, in dry kindle forests, etc...
  10. I'm interested in how your traveling there went. How are they handling Covid? What were your experiences?
  11. Yup, I wasn't going to say anything earlier, because we already know how I feel...lol....but since you mention it, check out the hellmouth that is Sizzlecuse. And...it just went up again to 86 degrees! It's insane!
  12. That's more like it! @Syrmax, want to jump in MY kind of pool???
  13. I was right...it was only an hour...I know the climate too well already... Lol
  14. Well, I'll be.... Look who isn't the hottest place in CNY for an hour.
  15. I think you are right. We are stuck with this. Very ironic, considering what we tout as a successful democratic society to the rest of the world.
  16. The incompetence of our current administration is evident when the SCOTUS steps in on several occasions within a short timespan. Trump was a social media embarrassment to our nation...but, come on, Biden is not with it...at all. He can't even speak one coherent sentence. It seriously concerns me that he is so out of it. On an international level, it is a safety issue for our country because he, and now us, are clearly a laughing stock to the world. China and Russia are advancing their moves. I tried watching Biden making his "threats" but just couldn't. Not intimidating at all...and stuttering over his words. Are we just going to play "dumb" and act like our President is leading? Because he's not...and neither is this administration. I really wish we could just clean out our government...BOTH sides...and start fresh...because their corruption and games are destroying us from within.
  17. Once again, it was hotter here than Birmingham, Atlanta, Charleston, etc... Dewpoint was in the 70s here just like down there, so it's not like that had any factor. My mind is seriously boggled by just how much the heat seems to move over top...latitude doesn't seem to make any difference.
  18. Wow, it sure does make something that is so destructive look like a beauty.
  19. Sizzlecuse did its thing and popped 90 again. 91 degrees...lol
  20. No..these days, cold fronts just bring us down to somewhat above average. lol
  21. 82 degrees before 9 am in Syracuse. Just awful! Looks like the forecast now doesn't have highs fall below the mid 80s untill Tuesday! If I wanted these ridiculously hot summers I would have moved to Georgia!!!! Yup...still bitter... because the weather in Upstate New York has SUCKED in the time I have lived here. Lol
  22. Bring it. I would love to see some Pool effect snow showers over @Syrmax's pool this Fall.....
