  1. Might as well go big or go home.....perhaps the murder hornets all fly to one of the poles and cause the poles to flip.......
  2. LWM maxed at 38. Not much of in the way of wind and rain in the area.
  3. Hopefully one of those branches did not hit you in the head.
  4. File a damage report with NWS
  5. About as short as the Sox playoffs hopes were this season.
  6. Bob was a cat 5 compared to this storm in the Merrimack Valley area....
  7. It was "windier" yesterday.
  8. Same here in Methuen. Had a few sprinkles earlier.
  9. Look into the long term rate and wait until the next real threat comes along in a decade or 2........
  10. I have a better chance of being in the Sox starting rotation than that happening.
  11. The hurricanes in 1635, 1667,1693 and 1788 may have been major hurricanes. And a close miss in 1869. Others of interest are the 2 hurricanes in 1815 and the hurricane in 1849.
  12. The year where anything and everything will go wrong.......
  13. odds of that happening are.........???
  14. But some DO expect the switch to flip around Sept 1st....
  15. ......And on Sept 1st most of the heat lovers will expect a switch to cool fall weather. Hasn't worked out all that well the last 2 years...
  16. Correct! After a few days those who hope for a repeat of 38 will come to their collective senses and realize how bad the situation is.
  17. Taxes on govt pension and SS have to be given strong consideration so I fully understand why PA is appealing to you. Pittsburgh is a great city. Home prices in that area are far more reasonable than in Ma. Great area for hs,college and pro sports.
  18. https://www.weather.gov/media/pbz/records/hissnow.pdf Home prices are cheap compared to NE but not a great area for snowfall.
  19. Stalls in the gulf until September, then makes a beeline for the coast, then a Cat 6 redux of 38.......
  20. Depends on how much money you want to spend for a nice looking lawn. Personally I'd rather invest the money in something that I need or want to do. My lawn is decent. A neighbor down the street has a great looking lawn but his water bill is huge. Plus he uses a lot of different chemicals on his lawn which is another major expense. The fascination with lawns is an obsession with some people. A former neighbor would spend hours working on his lawn. His lawn looked better than augusta! He moved out about 15 years ago. A couple of years later he came back to visit. He was appalled at the condition of the lawn at his former home.
