  1. The future radar even depicts Dorian in Steeler colors......
  2. Don't worry, Gov Baker will have the electric company trucks parked outside of your home by noon tomorrow at the latest. Perhaps the Buffalo Bills will send the Electric Company to your home!
  3. Also noticed GFS and the Legacy also have Dorian strengthening
  4. Just read JB's twitter, he mentioned a possible re-intensification due to warmer water and the configuration of the coast.
  5. You may enjoy this book. https://www.amazon.com/American-Hurricanes-1492-1870-McWilliams-Ludlum-dp-0933876165/dp/0933876165/ref=mt_hardcover?_encoding=UTF8
  6. After reading your post I decided to check Ebay for listings of newspapers with coverage of the 1938 Hurricane. Listed for auction is a copy of The County Review from Riverhead NY. It's interesting to view some of the photos of the paper. Have you ever checked at your local library for newspapers from that time? Edit: Also came across this ebay listing https://www.ebay.com/itm/1938-Newspaper-Photo-Book-WORCESTER-GAZETTE-New-England-Hurricane-Flood-Storm/233004700772?hash=item3640
  7. There are some individuals who are going to complain and find fault with anything and everything. The comment section(s) on sites gives them the opportunity to have a voice. Many sites have removed the comments section because some individuals spend all day commenting on various news articles/stories. About 10-12 years ago there was a poster on Yahoo Finance who would post thousands of times a day about Sirius Sat Radio. He was a fan of XM Sat radio. Every post he made was a negative one. Eventually Yahoo changed how the comments section functioned. The change meant the poster had to go into each comment to reply rather than making a series of posts in one long thread. Not all that long after the change the individual stopped posting.
  8. Certainly was an amazing storm. The damage today would shock people. Katherine Hepburn's family home was in Old Saybrook http://www.historybyzim.com/2015/07/katharine-hepburn-the-new-england-hurricane-of-1938/
  9. Many years ago I attended a sports auction and one of the auction items was a newspaper from the day after the hurricane hit. It was in pristine condition. It was very interesting to look at the front page of the paper. Sudden Sea The Great Hurricane of 1938 and The Great Hurricane 1938 are both excellent books on the topic.
  10. So if Dorian does take a turn to the north, and I post "Looks like Dorian is going to hit the SC coast" ...you assume I want to see a cat 3/4 hit SC???
  11. That is a huge leap to make from still moving west to someone wanting a direct hit on Florida.
  12. Hey did you find that post on your profile????? Ya know the one you said a mod deleted. Easily done!
  13. So you make the jump from "Dorian seems to be still heading west" to people hoping for a direct hit on FL?????
  14. So what are people suppose to discuss?? Even Mets on here and other online sites/TV have discussed Dorians wobbles and potential tracks. And some have speculated on Dorian hitting FL. Is that wishcasting? I have not read a post that stated "I want to see A full fledged CAT 5 Dorian hit Florida"
  15. So expressing an opinion/thought is "wish casting"????
  16. There is a significant difference between discussing different scenarios and wishing for a " 200 MPH Dorian" to hit FL
  17. Find 10 posts where people stated they were hoping FL gets impacted by a 200 MPH Dorian...…...
  18. You can easily find the post on your profile page. Would take you a couple of minutes at most. Where's the post????
  19. Main thread is much better than someone constantly posting about high dews.
