    Agree. His winter outlook has changed somewhat from his earlier thoughts during the summer. Another thing about Cosgrove is he will adjust his forecast accordingly. Some will "drive" their cold & snowy winter forecast off a cliff in an attempt to be right. I prefer someone who adjusts the forecast as needed rather than someone who hangs on to his/her forecast in a desperate attempt to be right.

    The last several years the trend has been for any oool/cold period to be soon followed by a well above average temp pattern that lasts for awhile. November likely ends up above avg temp wise and perhaps well above avg.

    For the most part it has had an El Nino look to it for quite some time. JB has made the point that the waters have never returned to normal following the Super El Nino of 15-16.

    So what are people suppose to discuss?? Even Mets on here and other online sites/TV have discussed Dorians wobbles and potential tracks. And some have speculated on Dorian hitting FL. Is that wishcasting? I have not read a post that stated "I want to see A full fledged CAT 5 Dorian hit Florida"

    I find it interesting that the Australian Bureau of Meteorology has moved the El Nino watch to an alert. According to what I read that means they think there is a 70% chance of an El Nino developing in 2019.

    And some in the SNE subforum will deny the existence of an El Nino this winter.
