Autumn and winter will likely be extremely warm, this pattern is locked into place and there's no escape.
He got the TORCH pattern that he desired but now he's starting to realize that the pattern is likely going to linger for much of the fall and perhaps the winter.

Ya, I'll take any forecast more than a few days out with a grain of salt, let alone plan on any entire month being either AN or BN.
I do not think it has anything to do with forecasts and/or the models. The overall weather pattern has produced well above normal warmth for several months. And as things stand right now the pattern looks to continue into October.

Oh I wasn't questioning if it was or wasn't, just kind of felt bad that someone was picking apart his new place/location. It's all good.
I live in Methuen. I'd rather be honest with someone. I hope he and his wife enjoys their new home.

yeah, but there is more snow in Methuen. it's a wash.
How much more snow do you actually think falls in Methuen as oppose to Wilmington??? Honestly I do not think it is all that much especially on the east side of Methuen. The west side of Methuen near Pelham/Dracut probably receives more snowfall than Wilmington. There is a lengthy list of issues in Methuen that would require the yearly snowfall totals for the Tug Hill area to even begin to mitigate the issues.

I'm moving to Methuen in October or November...offer accepted last night.
Nearly everyone I know who lives in Methuen is moving to another city/town or thinking of it. And that includes me. The city is a political circus like no other. And there is talk of a prop 21/2 override which will lead to even higher property evaluation and taxes,

They are cheaper then down here at least. Main reason why we moved North, to get more land and more house for the money. Yes property taxes are higher but wanted out of here.
A good decision on your part. And I fully understand why you and your wife wanted to leave. The taxes will go up if the elected clowns in Methuen get their way with the Prop 21/2 override.

I had to run out and drain the pool in it! Brief spin up out by the Lynn area though? Impressive couplet on radar velocity for a few frames.
Oh that must of been fun! lol It will be interesting to see if a touchdown occurred in that area.

Thanks Great Snow...I appreciate that. That certainly doesn't sound good. I haven't been too close to the issues in Methuen as of late, but based on your comment I am glad I moved on. One thing I noticed at least down where I was, was all the houses they have build building in Northern Methuen up on Hampstead street and Howe...just house after house...the traffic was getting unbearable.
You're welcome. Methuen has allowed too many homes to be built. The schools are bursting at the seams because they are so overcrowded. And the traffic in the area has become very much like the traffic in the Boston area. Each afternoon and morning Rte 93 and Rte 495 are choked with traffic for hours.
How are the home prices in your area?

I can't think of a time I've seen it rain this hard here.
Same here in Methuen. Absolute deluge.

Just moved up to New Hampshire this weekend. Found a house a few houses down that is reporting to Weather Underground. Don't know how good his rain gauge is, but currently reporting 3.2" so far. Again, I have no idea what his equipment is, just reporting what it says at the moment.
Dan,
Congrats on your move. I'm wishing you and your family all the best in your new home. You picked a good time to leave Methuen. The city is being hit by one scandal after another. And I'm sure there are additional scandals in the pipeline.

Torrential rain now in Methuen.

So let me get this straight, no signs of color on stressed out trees, except the stressed trees that are showing color, and SNE is pretty far behind, but NNE is totally normal. Got it.
As usual he is wrong. Smartest man in the room......

No one reads any of your posts . Just letting you know so you don’t waste time
well then you must consider yourself to be no one......lol
I find it amazing that from the comfort of your recliner(while you gaze out the window looking at gypsy moths) in the living room...yes the room with the window AC ….that you are able to determine that only stressed trees are showing color....remarkable indeed. Or are you gathering that info from twitter?...perhaps from the same people who were mentioning a redux of 1816 prior to the summers of 2017 and 2018?????

I don't know. They are changing quite rapidly here, seems pretty much on schedule. The 28F a few days ago should definitely help too
Even in So. NH and northern Mass there are plenty of trees showing signs of color change. For example, I was in Andover yesterday and I had to take a different exit off of RTE 93 and most of the trees along the exit ramp had some evidence of the leaves changing color.

There’s zero color anywhere . Usually by now you’ve got some color starting to show other than stressed out maples
Wrong as usual.

I'm not sure if there is any connection or not, but in Lawrence on RTE 114 there is a major construction project that has been ongoing for several months at the site of the former Showcase Cinema. The site is right in the area.
I live in Methuen and at this time(1:20 AM) it is the 1st time in several hours that I cannot hear siren noise coming from Lawrence, North Andover and Andover. Several friends of mine who live in Lawrence had a difficult time evacuating the city last evening due to all the road closures in Lawrence. Also the Mthuen olice Dept made a reverse 911 call to inform the residents of Methuen that their wasn't any risk in Methuen.

Yeah, Bob was pretty much a Cape Cod special.
The storms we had this past March had a greater impact on the Merrimack Valley area of MA than what Bob did. Even the Halloween storm last year was worse than Bob. As we both know,Sandy wasn't a hurricane but it still packed a wallop.

Perhaps maybe you should be the one doing the research...... Here I'll help you get started.
Sandy was a powerful storm. It had a greater impact on SNE than what Hurricane Bob did.

sandy wasn't even a tropical system.
no one that was in nyc/jersey survived a cat 1 hurricane that day.
You might want to do some research on Sandy.....

this is going to be the fake news hurricane that breaks the camel's back. think millions are going to keep evacuating absurdly early going forward?
or maybe i'm pissed my flight was cancelled because nobody ever really knows where these things are going, and yet we get the same thing we get every single year. WORST HURRICANE EVER COMING!!!
sunny and 10 mph winds and we can't fly because foxnews and cnn scared everybody.
you mean a cat 5 isn't going to hit the Carolinas afterall? no ****ing way...
A friend of mine has family who live in the mandatory evacuation area in VA. According my friend his family thinks the order to evacuate was issued too early. And they have also told him that some in their area will not take the next mandatory evacuation orders all that seriously.
Coldtober model and pattern disco
in New England

Currently Sept is 2nd warmest on record for Boston. Think of what the trend has been for the last several months. Are there any sings of the pattern flipping to a cool/cold pattern for this time of year?
