  1. Sister in Plymouth, near the exit formerly known as 3, says it is pretty bad there. Trees and power lines down everywhere. And limited cell service
  2. Darn it- did not see any snow flakes...we wait...
  3. Alex recorded 29 degrees for the low. It didn't get as chilly as I expected...I was thinking 26-28, but I think some clouds moved in? I also think today is the last day of sunshine for a while. Let's see what the coastal storm does.
  4. Probably going to get our first hard freeze tonight
  5. Snowing on Mt Washington. Upslope rain showers in Bretton Woods and the Rt 2 corridor. Hoping it clears out so I can gets pics of the snow line on the Presidentials. Low to mid 40s at lower elevations
  6. I was just coming to post about this. We lost power for half the day. It was beautiful while it was snowing. I love how heavy wet snow clings to everything. This year, still waiting for the first hard frost.
  7. We are just passing peak. Franconia Notch to just south of Lincoln are at peak. Drove to Rowley MA today. Still felt like summer down there and barely any change in color
  8. We are just passing peak. Franconia Notch to just south of Lincoln are at peak. Drove to Rowley MA today. Still felt like summer down there and barely any change in color.
  9. The doink heard round the world... Well at least across New England. That was a damn good game.
  10. I'm just glad my car was in the parking lot...can't let @alexknow how late I am to work
  11. Ummm, this weather...ugh...makes me want to eat all the carbs
  12. Let's see what all this wasp/yellow jacket action translates to... Big big winter???
  13. Alex had frost on his car windshield this morning and it Snowed at the Summit of Mt Wash. Does that mean we need to start a Cold Season Thread?
  14. Wasps/yellow jackets have been super active along with the mice this year...wonder if there are any old wives tales that go along with using that to predict winter
  15. This hits too close to home. I worked in this industry for 3 years and became a certified trainer. I have friends still working in the industry. Condolences on the loss of your friend.
  16. Off and on Upslope mist here today. But was still a lovely day!
  17. Last year, we had a freeze the very beginning of September and with the drought, the combo created peak foliage season that lasted around 3 or 4 days at the most. Peak was around Sept 24-26. If went fast and on the earlier side. Omni didn't get their Gondola open in time for peak. This year, no freeze yet, and things are moving so much slower. Colors are definitely on the way, though.
  18. That line has diminished but it is just getting. I've turned off the lights and I am watching the lightning
  19. Any signs of the 540 line on future model runs? The first frost up here seems like it will be late this year.
  20. The foliage is 100% primed and ready to go. The minute we get the first frost, it's off to the races. I'm guessing chlorophyll lifespan has a lot to do with sun angle. It has been wet and warm, but the chlorophyll has been steadily fading.
