  1. We are just passing peak. Franconia Notch to just south of Lincoln are at peak. Drove to Rowley MA today. Still felt like summer down there and barely any change in color

  3. The doink heard round the world... Well at least across New England. That was a damn good game.
  4. I'm just glad my car was in the parking lot...can't let @alexknow how late I am to work
  5. Ummm, this weather...ugh...makes me want to eat all the carbs
  6. Let's see what all this wasp/yellow jacket action translates to... Big big winter???
  7. Alex had frost on his car windshield this morning and it Snowed at the Summit of Mt Wash. Does that mean we need to start a Cold Season Thread?
  8. Wasps/yellow jackets have been super active along with the mice this year...wonder if there are any old wives tales that go along with using that to predict winter
  9. This hits too close to home. I worked in this industry for 3 years and became a certified trainer. I have friends still working in the industry. Condolences on the loss of your friend.
  10. Off and on Upslope mist here today. But was still a lovely day!
  11. Last year, we had a freeze the very beginning of September and with the drought, the combo created peak foliage season that lasted around 3 or 4 days at the most. Peak was around Sept 24-26. If went fast and on the earlier side. Omni didn't get their Gondola open in time for peak. This year, no freeze yet, and things are moving so much slower. Colors are definitely on the way, though.
  12. That line has diminished but it is just getting. I've turned off the lights and I am watching the lightning
  13. Any signs of the 540 line on future model runs? The first frost up here seems like it will be late this year.
  14. The foliage is 100% primed and ready to go. The minute we get the first frost, it's off to the races. I'm guessing chlorophyll lifespan has a lot to do with sun angle. It has been wet and warm, but the chlorophyll has been steadily fading.
  15. I really enjoy the changing seasons. I'm glad to be moving away from the heat and humidity. I think I would really love winter if it had the same amount of daylight hrs as summer. The long darkness of winter is the one thing that I struggle with.
  16. Canada geese are migrating, so are the humming birds
  17. Summer's back is broken. Leaves are fading, first splashes of color appearing... I did not get a chance to do any summer activities. Sigh...
  18. The leaves are changing. Noticed the first patches of color on July 30th. At first I just thought it was weak/sick trees...but I've been watching the patches for a week, and they keep expanding and new ones have popped up. Seems to be mainly red maples and birches
  19. Only light rain from Lincoln NH north past the Notch. I went to the Plymouth, NH Walmart around 7pm. Wicked heavy rain. On my drive back, flash flood warnings going off over the radio for southern and central NH. That was 3hrs ago.
  20. The sun usually comes out for 20minutes during sunset...then the next morning it is either cloudy, or cloudy with rain...lovely pattern
