nasty thunderstorm in the city.. will probably be the best thunderstorm the city will have all year lol..something you would not expect in mid january..

i even had to open my coat outside today...lucky i had a sweatshirt underneath..

snow flurries today and will be in the 20's tonight so that stretch is over...

more snow for nyc  but not stronger then the 2010 blizzard which had a lower pressure...

Over abundance of warm ocean waters fuels a storm that eventually throws A LOT of moisture into a cold landmass. I know it is elementary, but some ppl need reminding we are one really strong storm away from making up most -if not all- of our seasonal average....

remember the winter of 2015-2016 which looked dreadful record warmth until we got the blizzard in just cold enough temps for a historic storm in jan nyc..

at some point in the near future you will have to move to a  more snowy place.you cant be putting out model runs showing a more favorable pattern for snow in the nyc area people might think you lost all your marbles...

today will be the coldest  record low maximum all winter in nyc..

days are already getting longer...sun angle is increasing...

i do not recall a time where the coldest  temps we got in the city was brought in by wsw winds..

it is stupid to have a championship determined by penalty kicks in soccer  hockey in the playoffs has sudden death nba games are not determined by each team taking free throws..at the end of regulation to see who wins a nba title.. they have to get rid of the penalty kick sudden  death in the championship game play till they drop. if they have to remove 2 players from each team.. to open up the field..

less snow then expected in certain areas and less rain then what was predicted when this storm ends bust!!

Yes right now the timing for the potential storm is late thursday into friday, well before Xmas eve. Then just bitter cold for Christmas weekend. High temps might not get out of the 20s. 

when i was a kid bitter cold in the daytime meant temps in the teens.. or on rare occasions single digits

in 20 years no more winter just a extended fall

a nice  long stretch of ski hats winter coats hoodies and gloves coming up..

i have been enjoying wearing a winter coat  after a brief warmup will enjoy continuing to wear on for the foreseeable future..
