@wawarriors4 what’s your total down there?
We are at 6.4” and the snow actually just picked back up, and it’s all snow again after mixing with a bit of sleet for a time. Great storm down here

Damn that sounds nice. Playing the waiting game with some nice moderate snow falling here
Yeah, I’m up to 3.7” so far, feel like 6” is attainable, if not more. Buddy of mine in Caroline is closing in on 8”

Probably why it’s getting replaced. That death band in Stanford looks like my kind of fun. Willing it North as we speak.
It is wild in that band here in Stafford, picked up 1.5” in the last 60 minutes

Can’t help but wonder if the heavy band coming up will help the storm advance a couple extra miles. But that’s weenie-talk, probably not how things actually work.
It’s puking snow in that band at the moment t in Fredericksburg/Stafford and as I type this Stafford was just upgraded to a Winter Storm Warning

The zone forecast has about 2 inches total for EZF. Maybe they just don’t buy the north trend.
True.... I’m still not sure what to expect around EZF to be honest

LWX needs to expand WSW to EZF. WWA for Stafford makes sense.
Agreed

I’m in Arlington at the moment. I’m going to head back to CHO tomorrow morning if it looks like it would verify a WSW.
Good deal! Think CHO is in a pretty good spot!

For you, no. For EZF and areas around them, yes
It’s been a great model day around EZF, but that ain’t ground truth. Will believe it when there’s snow on the ground

0.1” for MBY almost 0.2” for yours. Gotta like the trends.
And like 0.7” for mine, that’s a crazy shift

Well damn
Feels a little like January 2010 a bit. I lived in Arlington then, went from like pity flakes to 6” 24-36 before. I’m in Fredericksburg now, wonder what happens this time. Every model run im more and more invested

Wow, quite a bit North

Hmm, Canadian triplets, UKMET, and JMA get measurable precip to DC. If the Euro comes in with the same, I may start believing we see some snow here out of this.
Yeah, waiting for the Euro to confirm this isn’t all fantasy. I don’t think it’s too far from a low end Advisory type deal in EZF, but still preparing for Heavy Flurries. Knowing how close we are is the toughest part of this whole tracking episode

Per the ncep site, .1” of precip line on the FV3 ends up a little S of DC. CHO somewhere in between .25-.5”, RIC .5”.
Do you have a pic?

There was a clipper on 1/8 that dropped 1-2" and then really nothing until 1/30-2/10 and after that snowfall was pretty much done. Epic winter all in about 3 weeks, hopefully our benchmark of right around 1/20 this year works out.
