  1. Lets do this. let us get 3 feet of snow in a short time so we can move on to spring!
  2. We are starting to get a serious ice build up on everything here.
  3. .NEAR TERM /UNTIL 6 PM THIS EVENING/... -- Changed Discussion -- *Significant, locally damaging ice threat through the midday hours across much of the Central and North-Central Mtns of PA and the Middle Susq Valley...preceding an Arctic cold snap. Increased QPF and FZRA accums across a large part of the area from KUNV ENE through KIPT and KSEG based on high res guidance, upstream precip rates and an area of enhanced uvvel/cold cloud tops within the thermally direct circulation of a 110 kt jet max extending from Lake Erie northeast across the St. Lawrence Valley. Upstream rainfall rates of 0.10-0.20" of an inch/hour are aimed directly at the region of expected, longest-duration and coldest sfc air entrenched throughout the Valleys of Central PA and the Mid Susq Region. Increased ice accum to around 0.50" on the ridges AOA 1800 ft MSL east of KUNV through the KIPT area into the Endless Mtns, while the Valley locations should easily see 3-4 tenth of an inch of total ice accum. The region near and to the west of the RT 219 corridor will see minimal additional ice accum as temps are rising several deg above freezing across most locations ATTM.

  5. Dropped down to 5 right before sunrise. Currently a toasty 19 with sunshine
  6. yes they do. Years ago they were dependable probably one of the best in the nation, originating from Florida. But before I retired the procurement and dispatchers were reluctant on getting them as a carrier as they fell from elite status. always late not in hours, but days!
  7. Where I used to work( I since retired early I took an early retirement from being a supervisor) We had tankers coming in from the mid-west states, Ohio, and Canada. We used to use Hot water on the outlet valve and if that didn't work to open a frozen outlet we used air. Hooked up an air hose with a special fitting an applied over 100psi to open it up. when that let go and shot up towards the front of the tanker it sounded like a gun going off. We also got tankers from the southern states too but the chance they were froze was not great as the ones from Nebraska, Indiana, Iowa, Minnesota, Ohio, New Jersey and Canada .These tankers were loaded with liquid egg and had to be loaded at 33-36 degrees for shipping. In the summer that was a different story as we had spoiled egg come in to the plant. Especially from a plant in Arkansas.. Somehow the tankers were usually loaded and till we got them it was 5-6 days later, I don't know if trucking was the issue or the drivers just didn't care when they got there So you can imagine when you have 48,000-50000 lbs of spoiled egg thats a big loss and depending on the fluctuating market value sometimes even a bigger financial loss. .But I can definably relate to the frozen valve situation. I'm sure you seen tankers from where I used to work on the road. Papetti's and Michael Foods.
  8. At least your water isn't sitting on that tNker for over 12 hrs freezing up the valve at the outlet.
  9. That looks like a problem. I know the models underestimate how long it takes to get rid of the cold air, is this gonna be another one of them too? But will the warmer air eventually win out in the Susquehanna Valley?
  10. 23 this morning and the wind is starting to crank up
  11. If we only get 2 in here I don't anticipate to many problems but we get 3 or 5 in then that's a different situation on drifting.
  12. Yes the road from Eville to Berrysburg does drift and from Berrysburg to Pillow at spots also. Rt 147 basically has not much drifting except the big hill leaving Sunbury and when you get on top of the hill on that flat top. But it's nothing like Eville to Berrysburg IMO.
  13. A few years ago I stopped there to piss. And while I was in the bathroom this older woman came in spraying a spray bottle on the toilets and urinals. No warning she was coming in. She didn't say anything either. She just kept spraying away.
