I feel like a lot of people are thinking about the spike before they have actually gotten into the end zone.  Hopefully everyone from NYC to  CNE gets plowable snows but I think the band of 8”+ will be narrow.

At this point, I could be in the end zone with the refs indicating touchdown and I’d still be scanning the field for any flags to call it back!

It’s funny how the west last winter can have months of the same pattern but it takes a monumental effort for a favorable east coast pattern which provides a window for one or two events before it vanishes into the north atlantic like the titanic.

Regression is a b!tch!  Maybe we get a good event in 2 weeks.  Maybe we don't.  I, for one, will enjoy 50s/60s late week, next weekend.  Traveling for work next week and it looks like sun and 50s where I'm heading, so we sping for now.

That’s a split flow. Plenty of southern juice. I’m skeptical this window is nothing more than a 7-10day hail mary though…

If it’s only 7-10 days…we’ll get one or two shots. Given our conversion rate recently, I’m a bit weary.

This is pretty bad. We are basically in the peak of winter and there is almost no snow cover around here below 600 feet.
even last year we had a couple of inches of snow cover on the ground the first week of February.

No snow cover, no snow in sight and above normal temperatures. Yay

At this point I would take temperatures in the 50s to save on heating costs.

You may get your wish at the end of next week. I’m seeing 50F and sun forecasted here for next weekend.

Surprising 2-3” last night on the mountain here too.  Very low POPs last night.

Nice. That surprise snowfall is more than a quarter of my current snowfall to date on the season!

When there is a pack, the period between storms is fantastic. You’re not distracted by tracking and worrying and you just enjoy. What is outside. Get out there and enjoy what you have. If what people are mostly doing is spending their time online looking for the next Shot of adrenaline with each model run and then this is an excruciating.
For any of you, who can I recommend just taking a quick two day trip somewhere up north where there’s snow

I haven’t had a snow pack last longer than perhaps a week since about 2014-2015 back in Woburn. Crazy when you think about it.  Virginia, Rockport, and now two crap winters in Salem…
