Took me more than that to get from Hartford to New Haven (normally takes 20 minutes or so). Highway was at a standstill, blocked by multiple trees across the road. Route 5 was just as bad... In the damaged areas there is basically no going anywhere, you have to go around...

She even took video of the storm too and laughed when I ran outside and got drenched. She went crazy when it started hailing and even picked up some pieces. Just back from Hford, saw crazy damage in Wallingford/N.haven area where that big area of rotation crossed 91. Trees down everywhere, had to exit onto rt.5, power out, debris all over the place... Strongly suspect tor might have gone thru that area after looking at radar. 

Has there ever been a significant tornado - or for that matter any tornado - in the immediate BTV area? I don't recall any...
