  1. Well said. Mad taco, canteen creamery, American flatbread and mad river barn for dining. Also peasant and pitcher inn for fine dining. Lawson’s should be great.
  2. #boring. Got a few leaves down from this “storm”.
  3. They can and do download on the super bravo. However, imho, mt Ellen is an even better set up with the summit chair to the top. It’s a couple hundred feet higher than lincoln peak and the bottom of the summit is much higher than heavens gate. Plus the lodge is right there by the lift. There r more trails and a variety of terrain with fis, black diamond, panorama, rim run, and looking good.
  4. There’s a Brooke that runs by my house before entering into a lake and I can gauge the amount of rain from it. It’s been continuously high for awhile now. There have been times like after Floyd in 99 where it got higher (and actually rearranged the landscape quite a bit), but it has been flowing good.

  6. Can’t come soon enough. This, in my memory is the worst stretch of weather. Just putrid. Sure there have been cold , wet, hot, whatever, periods, but this warm cloudy humid for 6 weeks nonsense is beyond the pale.
  7. I've noticed the leaves on the maples are more brown than yellow.
  8. I rode a little yesterday in the mist. It was wet. fwiw-went to Wilkins orchard in Yorktown and it was packed this morning. cleared up around 3. Got hot instantly.
  9. I’ve heard of that fair. Big thing. soaked here. Bike cancel.
  10. What’s the status of the foliage up north? All green down here with the maples just starting to turn a little. Thinking of heading up to the Poughkeepsie to walk over that bridge.
  11. I was northbound on the taconic at around 6:15 it was coming down from pleasantville north past the croton reservoir. Boomers again now.
  12. Same here. Quite the downpour with a lot of lightening. Roads flooded.
  13. Drove from the Bronx to croton. It’s crazy town in southern westchester. Took me almost 2 hours what’s usually 45 minutes.
  14. Actually, I was up in vt for Irene. That was biblical. We were trapped in the mrv for 3 days before there was any road access into or out of the valley. The destruction along the mad river was incredible. We were staying at about 2000’ and so had no clue of the devastation until we ventured out the following morning.
  15. Ha, I was just thinking the same thing. I had just moved into my house a few months before. Massive flooding here. There is a brook that runs through the property. The runoff from Floyd completly rearranged it, ripping rocks and earth from an old dam and one bank and depositing it downstream. It was crazy town. Have t seen it like that since.
  16. Quick video of moisture streaming over the summit at Lincoln peak. Looking north so it’s going west to east.
  17. I’m by the south western part of blue just north of croton. But I’d love to ride the Yorktown trails with you. Let me know when you’re back to riding.
  18. I live like a mile from blue so I’m usually riding there at least once a week. Also been going up to Stewart a bit lately. Fun easy trails. Always looking for riders. Pm me whenever u want to ride.
  19. Nope. Water was crystal clear and perfect temp. I did check the website before going.
  20. Went to north beach in Burlington today. What a great spot.
  21. I spend a fair amount of time in the woods in the area since I bike and what I’ve noticed is the lack of an under story. There isnt anything under 6 feet. I assume that is the result of the overpopulation of deer. They just denude the vegetation they can reach. The trees are in fair shape and I haven’t really seen the vine problem so much. The ash are being replaced by maple for the most part and there’s a smattering of others, in addition to the oaks. Im up in vt right now, and it seems the density of the trees is similar but there is a much greater density of low level growth.
