my paltry harvest of almost ripe tomatoes were decimated by a local woodchuck this past weekend. I saw the critter this morning about to munch on another tomato on the deck, but he caught me spying him and turned away, smirking, undoubtedly knowing I would soon be gone to the office, leaving him free to enjoy lunch.

There was a bad fire around bear mtn about 10-15 years ago that burned almost down to the river. I remember it smelled awful for days. Trees are just starting to grow back. I got .2” yesterday.

4 times a day? I’m a bad gardener. Didn’t plant much this year. 5 tomato plants. They get watered for a few minutes every 3-4 days. They must hate me.

I had to go to graveside funeral at 2 in Paramus. It was hot. Car thermo read 98f. where’s this back door cold front? Still almost 80f here.
