Dude, keep the Yellowstone pics coming! What an epic trip that must be.
Ok a few more, starting with our last day at Big Sky, had a mini blizzard with white out conditions, then a few shots from west Yellowstone at the Grizzly and Wolf Discover Center which is an awesome place, home for rehabbing wolves and bears that have become habbitualized to humans.

Really nice pictures! Thanks for sharing. That last picture is fascinating. Is it a natural sculpture? Looks like an old man with a hat.
BTW, you should have considered the "omicron" express for your trip home. I hear it is a lot less dangerous than "Delta".
LOL, just hoping the flights aren’t cancelled. That last pic is a a pine tree next to a hot spring, frozen encrusted by steam with the snow continually caked on top. Lovely effects they make. Here is another example.

Greetings from West Yellowstone! It’s about 4 degrees and been snowing since we got here on Monday. Usually just pixies dust, but it add up. They had 2 feet last Sunday, probably another 4” since. A true winter wonderland! Went snowmobiling yesterday in the park, amazing! This should be on anyones winter bucket list. Saw bison, a bald Eagle, trumpeter swan and an elusive bobcat! And of course old faithful! Cold as F. With temp about 2 degrees and 35mph on the sled, about -24 windchill all day! Coldest I have ever been but exhilarating! Had an awesome post Yellowstone survival dinner with the family, Montana rye Manhattan, elk medallions with a cab reduction and huckleberry bread pudding! There, I think I have covered all banter topics in one post, little bit of weather, food and drink! Back to DC on Thursday! Will try to drag some of this winter weather back with me on my Delta flight! Happy New Year!

Epic winter day here in Big Sky, Mt. My current view! Moderate to heavy snow, Temps in low 20s and falling, winds gusting to 25 with 3-5” of snow expected today. Tomorrow off to west Yellowstone, Mt in preparation for snowmobiling in Yellowstone on Tuesday. Here is the forecast for Yellowstone! Yikes!

Hello everyone from Montana! Winter wonderland here, and it’s only going to get winterier! Had an awesome beer and thought of @Bob Chill. May we all have cold smoke in the near future! Will try to bring winter back east with me when I return! Happy Holidays!

Today seemed like the winteriest day of the year so far, hard freeze with heavy frost, overcast with high cirrus then the stratus layer moved in, damp now drizzle…plus it was the first day of astronomical winter so…

This is totally random, but I am watching the Shinning, why not on a dark and stormy night 2 days before Halloween. There is a scene where there is a radio broadcast and the news anchor mentions a ‘stockmans advisory’ and ‘Travelers Advisory’. I vaguely remember Stockmans Advisories from growing up in Colorado. Question, was that a NWS product, and do they still issue those? I am bored….and drinking.

@GATECH that parking lot at Belle Haven marina is where I first started looking for flood waters. The road to the marina was covered in at least a foot of water.
Not surprised GW closed. It was getting bad around 2pm and not even high tide
Drove by about 230, the whole northbound side of the parkway was underwater by that time l.

It’s bad just S of old town. Be careful
Yeah, I just forded the Potomac river on the GW parkway! Just before belle haven on southbound side. Belle haven shopping center is dry! Good news, looks like the pumps or whatever they did here worked!

Driving by the river this evening near Belle Haven and south along the parkway, river was way high! Should be interesting in Old Town tomorrow. High tide around 2:30, will time my drive home around that time.
