  1. The NBA has entered into exploratory conversations with the Walt Disney Company about restarting the remainder of its season at Disney's ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando, Florida, in late July, NBA spokesperson Mike Bass said Saturday. "The NBA, in conjunction with the National Basketball Players Association, is engaged in exploratory conversations with The Walt Disney Company about restarting the 2019-20 NBA season in late July at Disney's ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Florida as a single site for an NBA campus for games, practices and housing," Bass said. "Our priority continues to be the health and safety of all involved, and we are working with public health experts and government officials on a comprehensive set of guidelines to ensure that appropriate medical protocols and protections are in place." It remains unclear whether the NBA will play the remainder of its regular season or proceed directly to the playoffs. But the 220-acre ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, with its three arenas and ample hotel accommodations, would allow the league to restart play while limiting outside exposures. ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported Friday that the NBA has a board of governors call set for next Friday, which is expected to provide additional details for teams on a timetable and plan to proceed with the season. Teams are expecting the league to instruct them to start recalling players to their team's markets around June 1. The NBA is discussing a step-by-step plan for a resumption of the 2019-2020 season that includes an initial two-week recall of players into team marketplaces for a period of quarantine, one to two weeks of individual workouts at team facilities and a two-to-three-week formal training camp, Wojnarowski reported. Barring an unforeseen turn of events, many NBA owners, executives and NBPA elders believe commissioner Adam Silver will greenlight the return to play in June -- with games expected to resume sometime before the end of July, sources said.
  2. Well Redfield caught it's first case before we did lol
  3. New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo said he is now encouraging major sports teams in the state to plan on reopening without fans. "Hockey, basketball, baseball, football -- whoever can reopen -- we're a ready, willing and able partner," Cuomo said during his daily news conference. "I think this is in the best interest of all the people and the best interest of the state of New York." California Gov. Gavin Newsom later said sports could resume without fans in his state as soon as the "first week or so of June." Speaking at his daily news conference, Newsom said sports could return "without spectators and with modification and very prescriptive conditions" if the number of coronavirus cases and hospitalizations in the state continue to decrease. Texas Gov. Greg Abbott said professional sports without fans could resume there at the end of May. Major League Baseball is in talks with players on a plan to restart the season, and the NFL released its schedule earlier this month. "Personal disclosure, I want to watch the Buffalo Bills," said Cuomo, who gave his briefing in Roswell Park in Buffalo. Western New York, including the city of Buffalo, has met the state's coronavirus containment goals and will begin Phase 1 of reopening its economy on Tuesday. The Bills' organization, however, is not included in the Phase 1 plans and will not yet be able to return to its facility in Orchard Park.
  4. Major League Baseball's ambitious return-to-play plans include processing upward of 10,000 COVID-19 tests per week, overhauling stadiums and in-game settings to encourage social distancing, and rigorous rules intended to prevent against the spread of the coronavirus pandemic, according to a draft of the league's health-and-safety manual obtained by ESPN. The document, which is missing multiple sections, will swell beyond its robust 67 pages when complete. In this form, it is still a highly detailed road map that would require a staggering amount of effort to complete before the league's hopeful mid-June return to facilities and early-July Opening Day. Even with the manual's specificity, multiple officials who have seen it expressed to ESPN skepticism about the ability to implement it, especially in a short time frame. While its thoroughness in some areas is apparent, a number of questions are left unanswered -- an issue that will be addressed as the league and MLB Players Association continue negotiating their own return-to-play deal and MLB solicits feedback on the protocol. For now, it covers testing, travel, in-stadium adjustments, on-field changes and a wide array of other issues. Players and other team personnel not participating in the game would sit in the stands, separated by at least 6 feet. They would apply the same distancing standards to the national anthem. High-fives, fist bumps and hugs would be prohibited under the plan, as would spitting, tobacco use and chewing sunflower seeds. Pitchers would have their own set of balls to throw during bullpen sessions. Players would be discouraged from showering at stadiums after games and would not be allowed to take taxis or use ride-sharing apps on the road. The Athletic first reported the specifics of the memo. For all of the shock at how baseball -- and the lives of those playing it -- may look, the health protocols underpin the manual. MLB would break individuals into safety tiers, with Tier 1 (players, on-field personnel and medical personnel) and Tier 2 (other "essential" employees, including front-office officials) receiving consistent testing. Around 100 individuals would comprise the top two tiers, with other personnel who don't necessarily interact with them, such as cleaning crews and groundskeepers, in Tier 3. Under the plan, players would undergo multiple temperature screenings daily, including at home before coming to the stadium. MLB would test Tier 1 and 2 individuals for the coronavirus multiple times a week, according to the document, calling testing "a critical component" of the game's return. Family members would be tested too. Additionally, the document said the league "will offer free diagnostic and antibody/serology testing ... for healthcare workers or other first responders in the Clubs' home cities as a public service." Those who test positive would be immediately quarantined, though the document does not specify what would happen if Tier 1 or 2 individuals -- who are the only ones allowed to travel -- get diagnosed with COVID-19 on the road. The return from a positive test would require two negative tests, no symptoms and a go-ahead from team medical personnel. Though the document says "high-risk individuals" who could be at risk if they are infected with COVID-19 can opt out of playing, it does not address others with similar concerns Players would be required to wear masks everywhere except on the field and during strenuous activities. Their activities outside the stadium would change too, particularly on the road, where they would not be allowed to leave the hotel to eat at restaurants. Even at home, Tier 1 and 2 individuals would be discouraged from going to crowded bars. "MLB will not formally restrict the activities of Covered Individuals when they are away from work," the document said, "but will expect the members of each team to ensure that they all act responsibly. The careless actions of a single member of the team places the entire team (and their families) at risk, and teams should agree on their own off-field code of conduct for themselves and their family members to minimize the risk to the team." The plan would call for a three-phase spring training, in which pitchers and catchers would arrive, then position players. The third phase would include a limited number of exhibition games.
  5. My theory is that the Houston Astros started the spread of the coronavirus..
  6. Heros fund was passed as expected, obviously we will see some negotiating.. From I read expect a package of around 1-1.5 trillion and not until the end of may/early June..
  7. This is almost unimaginable.. Millionaires ruining their lives...They drove off in Lamborghini and BMW lol Not like they needed the money.. Warrants have been issued for the arrests of New York Giants cornerback DeAndre Baker and Seattle Seahawks cornerback Quinton Dunbar by the Miramar, Florida police department stemming from an incident that occurred Wednesday, May 13. Baker has been charged with four counts of armed robbery with a firearm and four counts of aggravated assault with a firearm while Dunbar has been charged with four counts of armed robbery. Per the police report, Baker took money and watches from the victims and with force and was armed with a semi-automatic firearm. Dunbar was assisting Baker in taking the money and valuables from the attendees at a party in Miramar, Broward County. The pair were allegedly hanging at a cookout when an argument ensued, resulting in Baker revealing a semi-automatic firearm. Baker allegedly Baker directed a third member, wearing a red mask, to shoot a person who entered the party -- but the gun was not fired. Both Baker and Dunbar are believed to have taken over three timepieces -- including an $18,000 Rolex watch and a Hublot worth $25,000. Baker and Dunbar also took over $7,000 in cash. Two affiants did not see Dunbar with a firearm but one said the opposite.
  8. Sorry to hear that Dave Hopefully an eventual vaccine can get the elderly back to normal living.. I went to the convenience store last night and probably half the people weren't wearing mask, big change from previous times going..I guess it's a false sense of security..I myself as well as my GF continue to wear masks and will do so as long as we see fit... Her job is only taking back one of the 4 people laid off on a part time basis (as of now),they will also be continuing to enforce social distancing, wearing mask and limit the amount of people inside at one time..
  9. Florida's Ron DeSantis became the second governor to announce that his state is open to professional sports teams that want to resume activity amid the coronavirus pandemic. "All professional sports are welcome here for practicing and for playing," DeSantis said at a news conference Wednesday in Tallahassee. "What I would tell commissioners of leagues is, if you have a team in an area where they just won't let them operate, we'll find a place for you here in the state of Florida." On Tuesday, Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey announced that professional sports, including MLB, the NBA, the NHL and the NFL, may resume in the state -- without fans -- on Saturday, as long as Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines are followed. Last month, Florida's DeSantis had deemed sports "essential services," allowing WWE and UFC events to take place in the state without fans. The Tiger Woods-Peyton Manning vs. Phil Mickelson-Tom Brady golf match will be in Hobe Sound on May 24, also without fans. DeSantis launched a phase 1 plan to reopen the state on Monday for all counties not including Miami-Dade and Broward. Those two counties will open this coming Monday. The Miami Heat reopened their facility Wednesday for players to undergo voluntary, individual workouts. No more than four players can participate at a time. DeSantis specifically mentioned baseball, soccer and basketball in his remarks Wednesday. "Our people are starved to have some of this back in our lives," he said. "I think we can certainly do it in a way that's safe."
  10. Among the other vital points included in the proposal: An expansion of playoff teams from 10 to 14; An 82-game season; The use of home stadiums in areas that have local and state governmental approval; A so-called spring training 2.0 that begins in June with a season set for early July; A universal designated hitter; Geographical schedules, in which teams play only in-division opponents and interleague opponents in a similar area (i.e. American League Central teams play only AL Central and National League Central teams); A 30-man roster with a taxi squad that would have upward of 50 players available. The playoff expansion, which had been floated before the coronavirus pandemic hit, would increase revenue as it shrivels in other areas. Teams estimate that upward of 40% of revenue comes from ticket sales and other gate-related income. The season could start on Fourth of July weekend with games around the country in home stadiums. The intradivision-heavy schedule would be to limit travel -- with teams possibly traveling by bus to nearby cities. Spring training likely would not include any games, as teams could get ready for the season at their home stadiums. The 50 players available would be a mixture of major leaguers and top minor league players, with the minor league season in jeopardy.
  11. Payrolls fell by 20.5 million last month, leaving 23 million unemployed, the Labor Department said Friday. Another 6.6 million Americans left the workforce altogether, meaning they were neither employed nor looking for work. The nation's unemployment rate more than tripled, soaring to 14.7% from 4.4% in March — the highest since the Great Depression.
  12. We have live sports!!! Lol I think it's the Cornhole championships, no fans, all wearing mask..
  13. Acid reflux cause"asthma" like symptoms as the acids back up into the esophagus, it can even cause inflammation of the lungs.. Shortness of breath, also called dyspnea, occurs with GERD because stomach acid that creeps into the esophagus can enter the lungs, particularly during sleep, and cause swelling of the airways. ... Such airway damage can affect breathing by causing coughing or wheezing. Abdominal bloating can affect the diaphragm, a muscular partition between the chest and abdomen. The diaphragm assists in breathing, which means bloating can lead to shortness of breath. This happens if the pressure in the abdomen is enough to restrict the movement of the diaphragm.
  14. Acid reflux does cause shortness of breath, just Google it my friend.. Gastritis is even worse it inflames the lining of the stomach, feeling like"pressure" , it's because I don't have full use of the diaphragm Which is what's causing the issue..
  15. Yeah it sucks bro.. I have gerd and about 3/4 of the food chain is off limits..My issue is smoking which really irritates it as well as caffeine, especially coffee ..I gave that up about a month ago.. Can't eat any spicy food, dairy, chocolate, sugars, fried foods, caffeine, tomato products, mint, etc lol I'm supposed to eat all bland foods like rice, oatmeal, yogurt etc lol I have seen many swear that milk Kefir cures IBS better than any drugs, some within a week!!! It's an extremely powerful probiotic , store bought has about 30-40 billion good bacteria in each cup, homemade could have trillions!!! Bad bacteria can not live in kerfi.. Usually has anywhere between 12-30 different strains..You should tell him to give it a try...
  16. So I was forced to go to the hospital yesterday due to GI distress as well as shortness of breath..I new it wasn't covid but I still had to go through a special area..I was diagnosed with gastritis as my stomach lining is inflamed and almost feels swollen, this is causing me to be out of breath doing regular house hold chores as well as trouble taking full breaths...It could take up to 10 weeks to fully heal..I have Probably already lost a good 10 pounds as I have no appetite and been living off oatmeal and milk kefir lol Chamomile tea seems to be some good relief as well..It's nearly impossible for me to lay on my back as it is hard to breath.. Needless to say I need to stay away from coronavirus as long as I can..

  20. Major League Baseball expects to offer a return-to-play proposal to the MLB Players Association within a week as teams have begun to encourage players to prepare for a "spring" training that could begin in mid-June and a season that would start in early July, sources familiar with the discussions told ESPN. While a significant number of hurdles remain and some industry leaders believe June and July return dates are optimistic, the approval of ownership on a plan and dialogue about specifics with the union would mark two vital steps in baseball's return from a season so far delayed six weeks by the coronavirus. General managers and managers from at least a dozen teams have reached out to players and suggested they ramp up baseball activities, executives, players and agents familiar with the conversations told ESPN. Some teams have suggested players prepare for a spring training that would begin as early as June 10 and a season that would begin July 1, dates first suggested publicly by former player Trevor Plouffe. Other teams, sources said, are being more general in their timetables, understanding the complications that hard dates can cause and wanting instead to nudge players toward being in game shape. Already dozens of players are working out at team facilities around the country, according to sources, and the possibility of holding a three- to four-week spring training at teams' home stadiums appeals to a number of stakeholders. After entertaining the ideas of quarantining all players in Arizona or using three- or five-city hubs to hold games, there is momentum toward the league trying to play games in home stadiums, sources said. The complications could be manifold, whether due to a coronavirus breakout in a city or the risk added by traveling, but the logistical concerns aren't nearly as acute as the building of hubs would be. Three player representatives, who have been sending updates to the union's rank-and-file, believe the union would be more receptive to such a plan because players could spend half their games at home and with families. This does not mean the league's proposal to the players' association will be met with open arms. Owners have pushed the league to ask players to take a pay cut from their salaries because of cratering revenues exacerbated by no fans being allowed in stadiums upon any return. In an agreement between the league and union, players agreed to be paid a prorated portion of their salaries based on games played, which the MLBPA argues covers any lessening of salary players should take. The potential snags go well beyond money. Returning to play in this environment poses a risk to players -- one they hope is allayed as much as possible in the league's proposal. Multiple players have reached out to the union asking what would happen if they opted not to play in 2020 out of fear for their health or a desire to remain with their families during the coronavirus pandemic, sources told ESPN. Further, a more direct question was asked by a player during a Zoom call with Cleveland Indians players that was first reported by The Athletic: What happens if we come back and a player tests positive? The league's answer to that question, and others, is eagerly anticipated by players whose sense of optimism has grown in the past week. At the same time, multiple officials and players have expressed reservation about negotiating an agreement as the country reopens, fearful that by the time the beginning of June rolls around, the climate for the game to return may not be as welcoming. The unknown, sources said, is part of the motivator to start the negotiation process within a week. Not only does MLB need approval from owners and players to start a season, officials from the White House and top health officials expect to be consulted and give the go-ahead, sources said. Already MLB has been in contact with federal and state officials seeking guidance as it maneuvers toward a new opening day. The look of the game and season will be determined in any agreement between the league and union. Multiple executives have suggested that as many as 50 players will be available for teams to use, and that they'll have active rosters of up to 30 players each game. The length of the season, should it start in July, could be between 80 and 100 games. Any agreement is likely to include contingency plans going forward, sources said. Some officials fear a so-called second wave of coronavirus cases that some health officials have forecast and believe that instead of planning to play into late November, with an expanded playoff system, MLB would be better suited playing a shorter season that gives the league a greater likelihood to avoid potential complications. The fallout from COVID-19 already has not just erased a large portion of the 2020 season, it has left front offices fearful of the immediate and long-term future. Scouting directors are waiting on the official word but told ESPN they expect the MLB draft in June to be five rounds instead of the standard 40. Further, while most teams have guaranteed employees pay through the end of May, the delay of baseball beyond July could precipitate a wave of furloughs and layoffs, according to sources.
