Interesting, I have 5" right now in Germantown. For whatever reason I seem to have a microclimate that is always about 1" above yours.

I actually think this is the heaviest snow I've ever seen. I've never seen whiteout conditions save for the "blizzard" wave we got a few weeks ago, but that was wind whiteout and not just striagt up snow whiteout.

Thanks. There are at least 2-3 cars stuck when I was driving back. There's a particular hill a little down the road from it that cars seem to have a lot of trouble getting up right now. I THINK it's even a snow emergency route, and still the road is bad.

And oh my god. Do NOT try to drive in this stuff. Got about 2" in Germantown right now but the snow is SUPER slick and slippery. The roads... people kept saying they'd be fine and would stay above 32. Yeah, that's NOT the case in Germantown right now. The roads are littered with cars with their flashers on just sitting there.

At this point when I see Ferrier is the last thing being posted to keep the hype down, I know it's going to be a good system, because it's ALWAYS bad.

I never even knew "snow to rain" was something that happened until I moved here. From Louisiana, the idea of snow turning into rain was flabbergasting to me. Probably because the only time I had ever seen snow was on the trailing end of fronts.

Very pleased to hear this. I was looking at the temps and the roads SEEM like they will be safe at those temps. I'll also be working against the flow of traffic so I have that going for me. I really, really don't want to cancel my date... lol. I even have plans to make mulled wine and hot apple cider for this gal.

So I've never done a true ice event here... Is there any chance at all it's going to be safe to drive from Germantown to DC at 6:00 PM on Wednesday?
