Been some miserable cold/wet springs since the infamous 2012 spring season.

Next week is looking great around here. Upper 40’s and lower 50’s with tons of sunshine. The 8-14 day outlook is calling for warmer than normal and drier than normal for the lakes.

Reached 68 today. Felt amazing

Reached 61 yesterday. Felt so nice to hear the birds chirping, a little sunshine and no car covered in road salt. Should top out in the mid 60’s with winds absolutrly howling. Under a high wind warning here with winds potentially reaching 65mph.
-
This cold wave has been impressive. Not only did we break the record with a low of -3 yesterday, we also broke the record high min with a reading of 11. This is the coldest high min reading in Champaign for the month of March since records began in 1888.
-
We have been consistently getting payback for Morch.

The low of -3 this morning broke the old record of 1 set back in 2002. Windchill was -20 at one point. Brutal for March.

Really hoping the temps being modeled to open March are way overdone. Have to imagine with absolutely no snowpack, and the fact it’s March would make 0 hard to achieve.

Had a wind gust of 60MPH last night at Willard Airport, even had pea size hail move through sw Champaign county as well.
Goodlord Bo and Will, you guys are going to be up to your eyeballs in snow! Literally!

This winter has had more fog and 33 degree rain events than I can ever recall. Ordinary winter for these parts, the highlight by far was the -45 windchills in late January. Actually a chance this winter could end up slightly warmer than normal for here anyway.

Season total stands at 16.1” my father who lives 20 miles south has had 13.5”. After the 33 degree rain once again yesterday, I am ready to put this winter out of its misery. Buying a ticket for a big dog has just been impossible to do here.

Looks like constant ridging over Alaska for the foreseeable future. Really just don’t want a repeat of last spring when we had a 4” snow in April.

Still a ways to go this winter but there's no way this won't be an A+. That's saying something considering the 5 week stretch in Dec to early Jan with 0.3" of snow.
You guys have done really well. I’m happy you guys were able to cash in. You waited patiently without blowing up the banter/complaint thread lol. I’m thankful for my 6” storm that lasted 2 weeks on the ground.

One of the worst winters I can remember. Lots of rain, fog, and ice. I would categorize most of the weather this winter here in east central IL as an inconvenience.Been a lot of 34 degree rain events lately. And yes very foggy this winter. I’ve washed my hands with this winter. Sustained winter and snowpack is slowly slipping away here with March just a little over 2 weeks away.

This pattern has been largely disappointing here in terms of snowfall. We managed a quick 1” stat padder on Sunday that lasted 24 hours, and then melted away with a 35 degree rain. Had it not been for that 6” storm and that 72 hour cold wave this winter would be a D- here.

Paducah, KY is sitting at a balmy 70 degrees which has tied their record from 1992. Tomorrow definitely has the potential to break our record tomorrow.

Torching away at 55 right now. Birds are chirping away. The spring itch will start soon.
-
48 here currently, feels amazing outside. I have 57 in my forecast tomorrow ,our measly snow cover prior to the thaw has melted off, and we our now left with parking lot piles. What a crazy week of weather.

We have a real legit chance of breaking the record of 59 set back in 1909.

Very prelim summer thoughts but at this point, I am triple weighting 1934 and 1936. 1988 and 2012 are also in the mix.
We broke our record of -13 from 1936 yesterday. Makes sense . Book it

I have 59 in my forecast on Monday. We had a windchill of -47 36 hours ago. What a wild fooking pattern.

Broke the low max with a high of -3 old record was 4 set back in 2004. We also broke the record low of -13 set back in 1936 with a low of -17.
