I wasn’t here but wasn’t BOS supposed to be whiffed and got 13 inches?
I remember this storm very well. Elliot Abrams was on WHDH radio insisting the storm would still miss Boston even at its height. Woke up in the morning to 14/15 inches in Dedham. Initial forecast was a trace to an inch or too. Outside of my college days, biggest bust I ever saw

Forgive me please if this was already discussed but are there any decent analogs for Thursday’s storm to compare?

I wish they had maps for us color blind folks lol

A bit of back end snow accompanied with a rip in the ozone and I’m satisfied
-
I’d be fine with a nice storm with a couple of inches at the end and my towns power grid intact

Any point in us BOS folks paying attention to this? The discussion tells me close the blinds and have fun interior.
Most of the forecast discussion is from much earlier today. Maybe the mid afternoon update will tell the tale?

Now if we can summon up some thunder and lightning to go with it that’d take the cake
-
Would certainly put to ease those who say it can’t snow when we have an October snowfall

Ekster and I were noting that too.
Warm front moving fast too. FIT jumped 10 in the last hour.
It’s unfortunate we can’t get a warm front to move that quickly in the summer around here

Shades of the October storm? Lightning is really going nuts in PA now

Friend in Uxbridge already lost her power for a few minutes

Window to watch is between 3-7 PM I think from NJ into southeast NY perhaps into southwestern CT...probably the greatest chance for severe weather (widespread wind damage and a few tornadoes) is in this corridor.
Any lightning chances with these Wiz?

That was a fun event. More please

Just enough 3km CAPE poking into the Cape with more than enough shear for a possible tornado. Also, check out the rapid increase in lightning just prior to the tightening couplet. Sometimes that can be a tell take sign for potential tornado genesis
I was just about to say a ton of lightning appeared out of no where in SE MA all of a sudden

Lots of thunder this morning.
I can’t recall such a thundery November day

Who needs ice when thunder is a boomin’?

That Thanksgiving bit was the most unfunny thing I think I've heard in a while.
It wasn’t my favorite but quite a few of the Bob Bartlett written sketches were hilarious

Let's talk about Turducken and Thanksgiving.

Lost our power for 90 minutes and we never lose it here.

Is that disturbance in the southern Caribbean worth keeping an eye on? Some models had something popping there about this time of the month?
edit: Mr Drag nicely outlines the possibilities in the tropics forum

A much scarier name than "Nana" which felt destined to bring you cookies and cocoa before bed.
True. Nana might have knocked down a tree or three but it would be worth it during presents at Christmas time

Active mid December with multiple event potential

With the wife and I at home both suffering from COVID I’m really looking forward to watching this dump without having to be anywhere
