  1. The temperature has finally fallen to freezing. Maybe we can start to get some accumulation now.
  2. I know you’re being facetious (I think) but the danger of not plowing is the inability of people to make it to the hospital in the event of a medical emergency. My mother was on dialysis at the end of her life and I used to worry every time there was heavy snow in the forecast about her making it to the dialysis center.
  3. What’s your temperature like? I’m still at 35 with light wet snow falling. It’s still too warm for any accumulation especially during the day. I know the temperature is supposed to fall during the day but I hate seeing this snow melt when it hits the ground.
  4. We need to get surface temperatures down a few degrees to start getting accumulations. It’s still in the mid 30s here and surfaces are wet.
  5. Just flipped over to snow here in the last 15 minutes. It looks like many schools have closed for the day even though there is yet to be any accumulation in the Syracuse area.
  6. Jim Teske is forecasting 2-4 by 6 PM tomorrow then another 4-8 overnight to get to the 6-12 he’s forecasting.
  7. What matters is you’re posting maps and nobody but you knows what they’re looking at.
  8. Wind shift to 290 at Rochester. The cold air is relentlessly marching eastward.
  9. Heavy rain at KBUF but winds have shifted to the northwest.
  10. Niagara Falls went over to snow at the top of the hour.
  11. On webcam it looks like it’s changing over in Niagara on the Lake.
  12. I used to take my mother there. It was nice sitting near their huge fireplace, especially when it was decorated for Christmas.
  13. Drove to Chipotle in Clay for take out about 45 minutes ago and the first raindrops were hitting my windshield.
  14. The updated report from Pearson at 5:33 has snow starting to mix in with the rain.
  15. KSYR 021754Z 18008KT 10SM FEW120 SCT180 BKN250 07/M03 A3022 Mid 40s at the airport. At least the dew point is still below freezing.
  16. NYC was in the 70s the day before the Blizzard of 1888 hit. Of course it was mid March.
  17. He’d have to chop a hole through the ice on his pool. It would more of a polar plunge.
  18. Still holding at 27 here. I went to bed at 2 and it was 30 and I felt like the temperature was on the way up but it actually fell again overnight. Yesterday was close to 40 but the extremely low dew points in the teens kept melting at a minimum.
  19. Oh I’m not but I just found it interesting that they feel the change will be so late.
  20. When do we think we’ll switch from rain to snow tomorrow. I felt the models were showing the flip around sunrise but the forecast on the Weather Channel didn’t have the change until noon.
  21. I would say 4:1 is basically sleet. I don’t know know if we ever have snow at 4:1.
