  1. NWS has Roc getting 4” as ‘expected’. My P+C for Pittsford is 3-8”. I can’t stress enough what a horrible set up this is for Rochester. High winds. Cellular/ diurnal nature of the squalls. Marginal temps. Trajectory isn’t even good. I’m expecting the big goose egg. Zip. Agree with Buf. Springville will win this easy. Buffalo, IAG, Syracuse all will get nada. Nuisance crap. Fun to watch . Oh, and my normal caveat- I’m terrible at this. Chances are better than average that I’ll be wrong again.
  2. I did check. They gave the extra ticket away last Sunday. Best of luck. I wouldn’t be surprised if you could find one in the lot? People often get 8 packs, or similar, and realize they can’t use them all. I’d ask around. Even though I have plenty of money, I try and get bargains on principle alone. Lol.
  3. Prices are out of hand. I had access to a free ticket last week. I’ll check if I can still get it. Sugarbush was 195.00/day.
  4. I finally drove down that way. Headed down 219 on my way to Ellicotville. And then headed East out of EV on my way home. Crazy terrain! And super convenient to Buffalo. I’m surprised it’s not more developed. Is it crazy expensive? Beautiful land marred by horrible trailer trash attitudes. Junk abounds outside of most of the residences. All Trump voters who look down on urban blight. Lol.
  5. It’s so ridiculous. When will they learn?!? I totally agree with your sentiments above- we’ll be lucky to get an inch or two in the grass. I was at Holiday Valley last Friday and it was getting very thin. Are they even open?
  6. I don’t hope the snow avoids here. Just for the record.
  7. Smart! I still think you’d love it. It’s so nice to have that extra space for stuff and the dog. Gas ain’t no field day tho
  8. Wouldn’t you like a nice big 4x4 SUV for all your trips in the weather? I love my 4Runner. So capable
  9. Even the LES looks super anemic. I’m done. Where’s the exit?
  10. Yep. It’s the worst. This is the problem with snowless Marches. I guess my expectations were overly influenced by the few snowy Marches we’ve had. This is, unfortunately, more typical.
  11. Lot of energy pinwheeling thru this weekend. I won’t be surprised if we see some fantasy solutions. I, for one, will be staying grounded and discount almost all accumulation maps for the lower elevations. Where was this a month ago?
  12. Looking at the patterns and it’s very obvious that we’ve flipped to a spring pattern. Lows jumping around. Retrograding and spinning up on themselves with multiple vortex centers. P-type is a guessing game mostly determined by elevation. Accumulations very unlikely in the valleys. I don’t see much hope of anything meaningful. Just crappy weather. Disappointing March to be sure. Back to a C+
  13. Good luck! I’m glad you’re staying in the area. Lowville is like smelling a great meal but not being allowed to taste it. I was driving down the hill from Brantingham and you can easily see the valley and the wind turbines on the tug. My favorite area might be Ava. Or West Turin, West Branch. Sounds like you’re looking really close to Altmar, which is where Wolfie lived.
  14. I wonder if Holiday Valley will even be open this weekend?
  15. Ya never know. It’s March. GFS says no way Jose. Stratospheric warming event could send a piece of the PV to us in 10-14 days. I still feel like I’m owed a big one. Today is the Storm of the Century anniversary, so don’t tell me it’s too late.
  16. All winter I’ve been lucky. This has been a real kick in the nuts. At snow ridge now and it’s pretty icy. They maybe got 3” of wind blown stuff. There are parts of this ass crack of a valley that appears to have had a bit less than a dusting. Really disappointing. I’m getting Matt’s rants about now. It sucks. Lol Bufs minimal map said 5” for Lowville and even that busted big time!
  17. One would think we’d get something on the backside with the northerly winds. But the models aren’t impressed. It’s hard to forecast though.
  18. Pioneer restaurant. I’m just eyeballing but doesn’t look like more than 1.5-2”. Brantingham has closer to 3 or 4”. I was under the pines. But definitely feels anemic.
  19. Binghamton was primed for this one. My poor brother is headed through there soon on his trip from Philly to Brantingham. Boy will he be sad when he sees how little snow we have (actually, he probably won’t care- not a weenie)
  20. It’s a microclimate event. Snow ridge is at 5” and here in the valley near Lowville it appears as if they’ve barely had more than 1”. Eeek
  21. Also, looks like Rochester got skunked. Only seeing about an inch on my cams. Ouch
  22. Yeah. This area doesn’t do great with these sliders. Skiing should be great. It’s the only time that more is not always better. Skiing in more than 6” gets tough. Gets pushed into enormous moguls that are tough to navigate. My favorite is the day after a snow, once they’ve groomed it
