  1. 12Z GFS continuing with that "Indian Summer look" (at least for highs, lows are more normal) for next week with ridging over much of the Eastern US. 3 or dare I say 4 potential days in the 70's. Normal next week is 67ish. If it gets to 73 or 74...is that Indian Summer, Heat Wave, or just warm days? The records are in the mid 80's so not extreme by any means. This is just model disco and not a forecast.
  2. So am/was I but if things do not improve in the next few hours I will have to punt today. Grass is as wet as it could possibly be with constant on and off drizzle.
  3. Nice additional 4 letter D word! Congrats on two nooners today.
  4. Real Nooners is 56, dank and wet with occasional drizzle. Hope/expect to see some brightening soon.
  5. Needless to say, you are not really counting down the hours to the next drought map tomorrow? I will check just to see if Blizz is still in a drought per USGS.
  6. No models that I saw have it but if sunny, someone might make a run at it.
  7. So you are throwing shade at MDT for now going with a record tie! :-). We have had about 1/4" of rain since midnight here.
  8. Good idea, get one in before works derails you!
  9. Similar to last week when I had Tropical Storm winds all morning and everyone else was like "what", there nothing here yesterday. 45 and another wet morning (could be the last one for quite some time as the US finally says goodbye to Ian) with light rain falling. 5 degrees warmer than yesterday morning though. Did not see any above 50 readings on MDT's 5 min summaries but their daily summary says 51 was the high. 3/4" of rain.
  10. It's a pickle as last October was "different" than this and lots did not like that either. I with you though. Snow and cold or let it be nice. No mid 40's and rain.
  11. Areas between Williamsport and Harrisburg are getting a drought ending drench. Down this way, watering of the Rou'ville plans has been canceled until the weekend with more rain coming tonight. Soil will be moist until Fri at least.
  12. Yea, we had 0 sun today. If this was winter it would have been a great day but for October it sort of sucked.
  13. Looks like MDT is currently tied with the Min Max record from 1998 at 50. No forgone conclusion it stays tied though as MDT has been on 50 on and off all day so it could go to 50.6 at any time.
  14. Raining and 45 here. Mow 27 pushed to tomorrow.
  15. He was the one who bought all my cashtown antiques I had for sale a few months ago. He drives a 1977 Chevy Nova and has over 100 cement animal figures in his front yard.
  16. With the looks of the GFS you could reach 50 before snow mow. Lots of upper 60's and 70's with a couple cold nights mixed in. Looks like this guy has figured out how to multi-task by bagging instead of plowing.
  17. Mow #27 is on the docket! Weekend frost may slow it down fairly quickly though.
  18. This mid to upper 70's might feel fairly nice on Thur.
  19. For today, late afternoon into the night (not a solid shield but rotating over many) and scattered rain into the afternoon tomorrow. 3K is similar though a bit less later tomorrow. This eventual solution really caught many off guard. AFD from NWS just 48-60 hours ago was mostly dry. As for the daily sensible weather, slim shower chances persist across portions of the lower Susquehanna Valley Monday/Tuesday nearer the upper forcing and greater moisture source. Wednesday and early Thursday look dry and fairly mild, as a warm advective southwesterly flow develops ahead of an approaching surface cold front. The just mentioned cold front is progged to cross the Commonwealth by early Friday, accompanied by at least scattered showers. The end of the week through at least next weekend looks to turn noticeably cooler at this time, as a very chilly air mass drops down from south-central Canada. The combination of this chilled air moving over the warmer Great Lakes waters, plus short-wave energy aloft should lead to at least scattered showers over northwestern PA and the Alleghenies. Farther east towards the Susquehanna Valley, downsloping should produce mainly dry weather.
  20. Still .5 to 1" more of rain for the LSV on HRRR
  21. About 2" storm total here as we got 3/4" overnight.
