    Here is the month compare between the Met seasons. The far-right top line number is departure from norm. Not going to add the 3 months from each season since we are only part way through Feb. We actually had a BN month this season though! It is in the mid to upper 70's in WV right now! Dec 19-20 Jan 19-20 Feb 19-20 Dec 22-23 Jan 22-23 Feb 22-23 SO FAR

    You could get a foot in May and it still count for winter. I do find it curious with all the worst winters ever comments. We are not that far removed from 2019-2020. If this winter does not change course at the end I will have trouble listening to much info about how it is not really different than the past. Two close to worst ever snow and temp winters within 2-3 years of each other. But I am forever the optimist, and I am not making a call for worst winter in early mid Feb.

    Clouds moved in here and stopped our run at 62. Down to 60 now.

    The HRRR just knocked 4-6 degrees off this predict for most areas. The HRRR being the HRRR today.

    Yea, it is that old SW Wind and no Valley to protect us West facing South Mountain dwellers issue. It fires right up the mountain chain in the direction of that arrow. But it is a precursor to the LSV as there is not much damming (damn it!) to save you.

    It is already 54 here. After the torch started off timidly Mon and Tue, it is kicking in full gear now. I would expect a 70 reading or two with those panels.

    Cloudy and a mild 46 this AM. Models keep pushing the weekend event back which is not ideal as the ULL will be too far south and could miss out on precip altogether. The Euro op has joined the other crew in showing a scenario similar to that.

    In my time back since 2018, they really do not seem to go away very long. When it is cold they are not seen but within a day or two of a warm up, out they come.

    For those that are big NWS zone fans, MDT now has snow and FRZ in their Sunday zone.

    It is sort of like when the first freeze happens, they stop freeze warnings...they know you are fully aware of the wind coming and see no need to warn you over it.

    I would think all the decades are "near normal" except the 1950's, 1960's and 2010's. 20-30" spread over 10 years is not really a lot.

    That chart posted last week showing the snow season shrinking by decade was the worst news I have seen a while...but this confirms the bigger snows we have been receiving...seems bigger snows in a short time period vs. small 2-4" type deals I remember so much from my childhood.

    EC has some snow in the far south of PA but nothing major...temps again marginal.

    12Z Euro follows in GFS's footsteps with less warm front rain for PA tomorrow and little to none in the LSV.
