The front passage on Sunday is getting more interesting as to active weather. Could see temps skyrocket above 65 before the front arrives and the chance of some rumbles as depicted right now.

Food?

A play on words of us and how we keep coming to the trough to 'eat' the model snowstorms.

For forecasters that rely on the ensembles for pattern recognition, I can see why the ball is being punted to the end of Dec. The only real trough after this week is the one we keep coming back to thinking there will be food/snow there.

People get absolutely miserable here. Snow helps to brighten everything up and it used to be very common in the Great Lakes region. Lately...........
I saw a documentary once explaining how counseling is so desperately needed in areas of the world that stay dark for months at a time (North Alaska, etc) because of the sadness, depression and miserable feeling that comes with it.

Some of you guys would be tortured if you lived somewhere like Upstate NY during the cold season months. It is SO CLOUDY here from November through March. We can go weeks without a day of sunshine. There's a reason so many take extra vitamins...including myself... The Lower Susq. Valley actually gets quite a bit of sunshine compared to other locales. Those NW winds off the mountains do their magic...
No offense to any poster but we are good at pointing out the issue of the day and complaining about it. I agree that we get plenty of sun here on a yearly basis.

Will there be any sun today

Hopefully. My wife put out some of the plans we keep in the garage to get some. The Mesos's I looked out have at least partly cloudy though.....so not a fully sunny day if they are right.

38 this Am.

Today was as a terrible winter day, IMO. 50's all day, fog, clouds...cannot enjoy cold or warm weather.

Today's weekly Eps not only held serve with a trough in the east starting Christmas, but the trough is deeper and temps colder! Normal precip for the last 3 of the 6 week forecast period.
Last Christmas was the only real cold period of the entire season. Ironic if it gets extremely cold again this year. We had one pipe burst (external spigot which routes through the garages.)

Late nooners. 48 and in the clouds at The Masland Mansion, Kings Gap State Park. Christmas Open House.

A saw that, quite the disparity. I assume MDT never broke out of the clouds? Whereas we had some peaks of sun early on down this way. I’m stuck at 49 as well, with a little over a third of an inch. Yuck indeed.
I think so (clouds) and some water influence. CXY got 54 and Mui 50 so the 50 at MDT is a bit low.

A balmy, damp 49 this Am. A big yuck to that. LNS and HGR got to 60 and THV 59 yesterday. MDT only 50.

12z ain't a win....but 18z is! Lol. Incredible the amount of digital snow we get.
We would die (literally) if the digital snow all fell.

So if I get a bunch of cats and make cocktails in my kitchen I too can have a wildly successful business????

Is it worth it to you to collect $200 from 20 people but have a smelly house? To me it is because I love animals but probably not everyone's cup of tea.

Link? Wife would LOVE this
Edit: nm found it. We visit cat cafes when we travel. Going to one in London so we can hear cats meow with a British accent.
The cafe part fooled me the first time we came here. I thought I could get an Italian soda with the cats but it is just cats and a gift shop. It is WV through.....

Doing anything fun there?

There is a house here where you can pay 10 a person a walk around and visit with dozens (hundreds) of cats. We love animals and it is a fun way to see a lot of cats and give them some money to help take care of them. Going on a hike too. Town is busy.

Hey, all! It's been some time since I last posted...ever since the mission of the board admin. to be total jackwagons to our Upstate NY sub forum. (We all have a much better, "safe" space now..lol)
I have always loved coming here to check up on conditions in my home state of PA and hometown of Lancaster. What's happened to you guys? You've always been a friendly, charming bunch. It seems recently there's a much more jaded, cynical, pissed off vibe. Maybe it's the crappy winters...or a few posters I've noticed who display pompous, a-hole behaviors to everybody. Don't let them dictate the tone of your subforum.
P.S. Climate Changer does the same thing on the now-dead Upstate NY subforum. It's quite humorous, as it appears he is talking to himself. Anyway, here's to hoping for a snowy winter for you all and a White Christmas for my visit to Danville during Christmas week!
It has been an unpleasant week but always enjoy your contributions.
