  1. Scanning over the 12Z stuff, no Euro yet, I would say that only the CMC would suggest the record is broken at MDT. GFS, Nam, Icon all keep MDT at or below 90 from here on out with several nights in the 60's. All models keep Friday in the low 80's as well except the icon in the mid 80's.
  2. GFS still tries to get the LSV some rain in the enxt 24 hours but HRRR and 3K say to buckle up your drought pants because they are not coming off.
  3. If I walked 3.5 miles to work I would need a shower, fresh clothes and 30 min to cool down. LOL. Congrats on doing stuff like that.
  4. 12 miles, wow. Just the time it takes to do that makes it a no go for so many!
  5. This post made me wonder if Bradford has ever hit 100. They have not. 99 in 2011. https://www.plantmaps.com/pennsylvania-record-high-and-low-temperature-map.php
  6. That water depth web site I found last week is quite interesting to watch. Here is a 100 day output from Franklin showing the drought starting to take hold in early may and a constant downward from there until we got about 1 1/2" last week where it popped up a tiny bit but now as started down again. Also shows a very wet spring. Gives one a good idea of how it takes a lot of soaking rain to overcome a drought in that 1 1/2" does such minor damage to the deficit. As a compare I threw up one of the York county wells where it does show a generally dry period but much more normal of a hot summer where there are ups and downs and the down is eventually similar in feet. This stuff is a statistical gold mine. I guess well drillers know it by heart. I am assuming the more smooth downward trend of the Franklin county map is not only due to almost no rain since early Map but the depth being so much deeper which limits quick bounces.
  7. Just 82 here. Looking forward to rain tomorrow. MDT had a nice day yesterday of padding onto the possible record. 95 and 78 for an average of 86.5
  8. I wish no one would rub anything in any one's faces. (I take a bow for the most pronouns in an 11 word Sentence)
  9. The thread should be sub titled 'Low Expectations prevent big let's downs'.
  10. They actually address this in their AFD. Going to need an outperforming week to break the record. I love records but being right at the mark those cooler temps Wed-Fri may screw the record. .CLIMATE... Through 7/25, the average July temperature at Harrisburg is holding at 81.8F or 5.9 degrees above normal - which would be tied with 1999 for the warmest July if the month ended right now. With above average temps forecast right through end of the month, July 2020 could end as the warmest July (any month, for that matter) on record. It will likely come down to the last one or two days of the month, as MDT should have daily average temps of more than 81.8 each day Sun, Mon and Tues. The forecast is then for lower (can`t say cooler) temperatures for the rest of the week. So, if our current/official forecast as of 3 AM Sunday is perfect (laughs), MDT will slide to 81.6 for the month. This would still be a rock solid 2nd - besting the current 2nd place of July 1955 (80.4) by >1 degree. Williamsport is still on track for it`s 4th warmest month. The average temperature at Williamsport through 7/25 is 78.1 degrees, which is 5.3 degrees above normal.
  11. I just peeked at the zone forecasts which showed no 90's after Tuesday and night time 60's to go with it. Just two nights in the 60's would probably pull the average down below the record. A high of 92 and a low of 70 would be too "cold" to get the record. After looking at the guidance I think they are using a blend of the GFS and Euro. Euro is hot but on an Island. Other guidance I looked at cools down much of PA next week.
  12. The coming cool down may push MDT and State College under the record. Temps in the 50's at CTP this week.
  13. I bet if someone looks hard enough they can find some big winters after bad sweet corn season analogies.
  14. I thought that was to really hammer us but I fell asleep and awoke to basically nothing in the till. It must has dissipated or split me. You deserve the big haul yesterday!
