Pretty uncomfortable earlier and had to turn on AC, only to have things cool off an hour later so we went back to natural AC. 72/65

Breezy but mostly sunny here with storms training south-north just to the west. Maybe get clipped later?

Pretty wild video from CA...firenado becomes water spout (at about the 1:10 mark)...

Temps dropping into the 60s here with an almost "raw" feel to the air.

City has requested that people refrain from outdoor water use but no ban yet. I expect that will be coming in the next week or so. Lawn is pretty much toast at this point.

NAM shows potential activity at varying times through 6-7 am tomorrow around here. Fingers crossed.

Saw an anecdote about Hurricane Fabio in the E. Pacific becoming the earliest named F-storm. It beat out a storm from 1984 and 1985, which was the Gloria year. I know every year is different but wonder if there's any correlation to high activity in the E. Pacific and east coast/NE impacting storms later in the season.

Family trip to NYC August 9-13. I can only hope we're out of the deep dews and heat by then.

Having visited family in Jaffrey over the years there is a subtle but noticeable change coming across the state then going over Temple Mountain, especially in winter. I recall a couple of tense trips heading home over the mountain in bad weather, or just ending up staying in Jaffrey overnight.

Hottest day of the stretch. Dews not too bad but that and the lack of sea breeze let things spike. Missed convention earlier but some more bubbling up to my northwest so hope we get a bit of rain for the landscape. 90/69

Pretty comfortable along the coast today. Now 71F with a noticeable scent of the sea in the air.

I think Keene and the southern counties of NH are in Boston's warning area not Gray Maine. Here in Central NH at 1100 elevation in the Gray forecst area I had a heat index of over 105F for 4 hours. No excessive heat warning. I know they try to do the best they can at Gray, OceanSt is a frequent poster. Top HI yesterday was 110F at 6pm 95/76.7F
Cheshire County used to be in Boston's while Hillsborough and Rockingham were always in Gray's as far as I know. I think they put all of NH under Gray a couple years ago?

Good drink for the landscape this evening and looks good for the overnight based on radar. 65F

Closing up some windows to retain warmth...getting pretty cool. 68F

I have a distinct memory of a report on NBC nightly news from some time in the 80s where they said Mount Washington recorded a wind chill of -200. I'd have to think the -107 is more likely but maybe I'll try to find it in the archives somewhere.

Welcome rains

I'm afraid if I go snow blow now that band just to the west is going to drop another 6 before morning. Seems like it wants to slowly come east. 30F, light-mod snow

Ripping. 28F

Dumping. 29F

Starting to feel effects of that band pivoting in from offshore. Down to 29F

Noisy storm just to my north...may clip me with a little flair up on the south side showing up on radar.
