Pretty crazy that we had 11 separate winter events this year for a total of 13.75". Forget nickel and dime that's a penny winter lol
Someone could have given me a O/U of 27" and I would have taken Over and felt very confident. 11 events, sure we'll get Over 27" w/ease! Yeah, right.
Really can't believe we were measuring some "events" in tenths and the big winner was 1"...really sad and painfully pathetic.
Stuff on our doorstep...

6abc 6pm going with start time 2:00 p.m. lasting to 8:00 (W to E) storms, 45 to 50 mph gust with one half to one inch of rain. To drought guys dismay, certainly doesn't look like a drought buster...

New years eve all over again on Wednesday evening folks That is the last time we had t storms and significant rains. 1-3 inches of rain will be a billion dollar rain event for farmers and landscapers in eastern PA and will definitely help this years crops and finally reestablished green lawns again. However, this rainfall event will only put a dent in the long term drought but it will be a significant dent in getting water back into the ground. The combination of warmer temps of 50 degrees on Tuesday into the weekend with the heavy rain will thaw out the entire frozen soil profile quickly. With no extreme overnight cold temps like over the past weekend, the greener lawns and budding of trees, daffodils and other bulbs popping up will be noticeable by the end of the weekend. Their is also a real good chance of a squall line with severe t- storms, straight line winds and a severe t- storm tornado watch being issued. Best potential weather event all winter. But after this event, it is back to the SOS again with wind and dry temps. At least the fire danger will be gone.
In the top 3 "events" this winter. Anything close would be a win...

Sorry I couldn't bring back any of the upper 70's weather from Vegas last week. Staring at 27 and wind is not fun this first week of March.
No worries, way too early for any of that crap. I'll take my current temperature of 34° with a smile...

Currently in Princeton for work, close to the university. It is ridiculously windy there right now. One gust actually affected my walking to the point where I stumbled a little bit.
Hopefully the flask didn't fall out of your pocket?
Yeah, definitely felt like 30-40 mph gust. Appeared the white dried up salt stuff was blowing around in the shopping center parking lot. Still some mounds lingering...

Blood moon coming up:
March 13-14: Total lunar eclipse
The first total lunar eclipse since 2022 will cause the moon to turn red on the night of March 13-14 during one of the top astronomy events of the year. This event, caused when the sun, Earth and moon align, is the first of two in 2025, although it will be the only lunar eclipse visible across the United States and Canada.
Many people will need to lose some sleep to witness the spectacle, as the total eclipse will unfold between 2:26 a.m. EDT and 3:31 a.m. EDT. Even if it is partly to mostly cloudy, just a few breaks in the clouds will be needed over the course of the 65-minute event to catch a glimpse of the eclipsed moon.
This type of eclipse is sometimes referred to as a Blood Moon, as the moon often turns red during the height of the eclipse. The color can be traced back to Earth as light passing through the planet's atmosphere is distorted, shifting to orange or red before being cast on the moon.

yeah right. Goading me again LOL. All this rain did is pollute the living hell out of the streams with salt water runoff. The trout are literally dying of thirst the water is so salty. No significant rains or snow events for the next two weeks does not bode well for any type of drought relief. This is the yellowest I have ever seen the grass at this time of the year- usually is it is greening up real nice. Hell my pussy willow will not evenbloom- the bees are going to die off
There's hardly any trout in the streams right now, they've been all fished out. However opening day is April 5th so they should be starting to stock shortly...

I was being sarcastic, probably the same amount around here. Sprinkles and occasional light rain for about 2 hours on and off. That's about it...

The group in the back is poopin up the infield real nice, lol.
The land in the back where all the geese are is where Lansdale Farmers market is held on weekends even during the Winter. I imagine there's leftover food and stuff around on the ground and the geese sure as hell know where to go...

With today's rainfall, the drought should be over.
Still some mounds in parking lots and may make it through the weekend w/highs in the 30s. After that, probably on life support/hospice...

The tradition continues that it never snows the last week of February. It's worse than the last week of December.
Usually false hope for the spring weenies. Then get smacked in the face several times March and April with some nutty up and down temperatures /precip. Then summer kicks in permanently and we're screwed getting baked temperature-wise till the count down to Autumn begins again. Rinse, repeat...

At the park early this morning/birds chirping. Grass definitely mushy and puddles in low lining areas all around. (Pic 1) Geese strutting their shit last week (Pic 2)
Give me one last cool/cold shot and a overnight 1-3" and I'll be content...nice kick ass day setting up.

Sprinkles here as well. I was lazy and didn't wash my car so I guess I'm okay...

Agreed. But it's still Feb. Spring is the only season I root for above normal temps.
Temps are fine in the 50s. I just don't want to rush into things since hot temperatures run into October these days. Hope April and May are cloudy damp and chilly...Seattle-ish, and throw in a couple new bands as well.

Big cloud fan here, you'll appreciate them as we move into the bitch fest of a Summer. Hopefully some catastrophic storms, winds, blowing trash cans, rooftop decapitation and all. Otherwise, a drought and drought guy goes off pasting the internet as references...
