    MRX

fast movement combined with the limited precip earlier this evening has led to decreased snowfall accumulations forecasted

Did they not state that there would be limited precipitation in their early disco and now they are using it as a reason for limiting snowfall?  Maybe I am being to hard on them.

  2. Well This makes since since they just increased the snow totals in the central valley
    MRX
Despite the dynamics, HREF guidance shows this band of moderate to
heavy snow moving through pretty rapidly. This fast movement
combined with the limited precip earlier this evening has led to
decreased snowfall accumulations forecasted across SW NC, the E TN
mountains, and the valley. However, HREF guidance points to the
band pivoting across the N Plateau through SW VA the longest, so
slightly increased snowfall forecast amounts up there overnight.

  3.  A little selective editing with regards to what @shawneastTN said.  This is most likely the reality.  MRX will call it an outlier and double-down on virtually nothing on the ground from morristown down the valley.  This in turn I think will have a huge impact on increased chances of valley accumulation. Do I need a sarc. tag?

  4. From MRX afternoon update.

Main focus will be the Saturday afternoon through early Sunday
morning system. The vertical temperature profile makes this
forecast, as always, tricky and quite variable across the forecast
area. Will rely heavily on ensembles to help fine-tune the area
forecast but latest operational model runs of the NAM, GFS, and
ECMWF are aligning to a potential significant snowfall.

  5. Don't know if I have ever seen the lack of coordination between offices that is evident between MRX and OHX.  If you live on the county line of Roan county you have a 20 percent chance of snow. If you live on the county line of Cumberland county 10 feet apart you have a 90 percent chance of snow showers.

Pretty healthy looking cluster moving down 75 towards Knoxville. Should come right over me. I’m at 4.25” now.

    .

You guys seem to do better in

northwest flow events in northwest Knox than we do in the Cedar Bluff area.  I am a little over 3 in and that is great for my area.  It would be great to get a little bonus but those streamers rarely work out for my area.
