  1. ZH with a nice summary of a report from MS (Matt hornbach their bond guy) on the source of Treasury shorting over the last quarter. Seems it would start in  Japan and was related to end of year balancing. He predicts rates will normalize in April , already seeing some of that. Cant find report , assume it’s behind a paywall.

It’s still also really hard to get home gym equipment, such as weight plates.

Not being critical and maybe you are but surprised your not back in the gym, I’ve been back since July and haven’t had any cases in the gyms I go to. The only thing that sucks is working out with a neck gaiter because I sweat a lot and it like being water boarded when it fills with sweat.

My wife takes care of our mortgage but I remember her complaining now and then about that.

Only way to avoid it is ask if you can pay it yourself, most banks would rather take your money early and work with it. Do that for all your mortgages and that adds to the bottom line.

Escrow shortages happen all the time.  It may be their mistake but when the payment lowered you gained by pocketing the difference when they lowered your payment.   Now it’s time to pay.   It sounds harsh but it’s not like the total outlay would be any different.   Pay attention to taxes and if you notice the bank forgets, pay the town yourself.   And refinance but only if you can get a rate 0.5 lower than your current one.  The mortgage companies are all the same.   I must have had 15-20 mortgages over the years.   Current rate is 2.8% which I’m pretty sure will never be lower.

This , given the nature of the beast, escrow withholding  will always lag tax changes.

Private school for us next year.   We got a great financial aid package from a cutting edge private school in Greenfield so we're giving it a shot.  Brand new campus with state of the art ventilation system and outdoor classroom spaces.  It's more than we want to spend but we only have one kid and I wanted to give him the best shot at normalcy.

Sent my son to private schools, with one it was financially feasible , and was happy with their Performance. Given the environment today agree with Phin, it’s a good choice. Private schools here have been in person all along, although I will say public school in out town had part time in person this school year.

Me thinks bonds r oversold here.

This is dated but saw more on expanded short positions in bonds this week, eventually the WSB boys will turn their attention to bonds and correct rates. (tongue in cheek but should eventually correct)

Actually stuff would start growing after tomorrow with the warm sun. It happens every year once the sun gets high. The problem is.. you lose green up season with a month of no rain and dews in the teens and 20’s. . That’s a problem for the vast majority of folks who like to get lawns going etc

Yup, low soil moisture here , we melted out more than 3 weeks ago with no rain since. I was screwing around cleaning some stuff off with the hose today and the overspray onto the lawn immediately caused it to green up. Would like to see some rain to get the entire lawn to green uP.

That's a blessing that I share.  State employees here can only accrue 960 hours, with additional accrued time recorded as lapsed sick leave - I have 1400+ hours of that.  Should one burn thru the whole 960, one can apply to have lapsed hours become "active".  My only serious use of SL was the 140 hours after my fusion surgery at C-4; unable to drive due to the cervical collar (said collar was hw worst part of post-op) and ensuring no damage to the operation site before things fully fused - have had zero after effects.  From what I've read, the tests of all 3 vaccines currently being used in the US indicate near complete protection from becoming seriously ill if they do get infected.  Time will tell if that holds true for millions as it did for 10-20 thousand.

Yeah as a CS we can apply sick leave towards time in, so adds nearly 13 months of service. As for vaccine prefer the one and done J&J

  9. Personally, I am not an anti-Vaxer but never get the seasonal flu shot, it’s success rate and my personal experience with the flu just doesn’t seem worth it ( I never get sick - I have accrued 2200 hours of sick leave). I will soon be eligible for the shot here in RI, and will get it. If it were just me i probably wouldn’t bother, mostly because I live (falsely ha) with a sense of invincibility, but to protect my wife and mother , who I visit regularly, I will get it. Hoping to get the J&J, my wife seems to think we can choose, but I don’t know. Plus my wife would divorce me if I didn’t get it.

  10. Yeah one thing to consider when you’re buying new clubs is to see if your local club/pro will let you demo sets. I am lucky enough to have a relationship with the pro at one of the local clubs I am not a member at . I talk to him and when I was in the market I went to hi. First and he let me play with ping, titleist and Calloway. He set up a fitting with the titlist rep and gave me a deal when I bought through him. I didn’t have to but no5ing brats actually paying a round or two with a set before you buy. I have done that before with drivers as well. One point I demo’d a driver liked it so much I just bought the demo at a deep discount
