    Yeah, I never liked the past event. When I saw that artic air dumping into Texas I knew we were in trouble....at least LSV. This Wed/Thur deal I have liked because it’s right on the heals of that departing crappy storm and better confluence up north. Should be good for a few inches, although a flip to sleet should be expected. .

    Exactly. Being in the science field (Mechanical Engineer), I have a huge appreciation of what these models do and what meteorologists can predict days in advanced. I am amazed at how close forecasts are. However, most people think science should be exact, and it is totally the opposite. .

    Long gave up on any frozen for LSV. Slow, 2 pieces, no confluence. Just drizzle here. .

    Whenever you start seeing storms breaking into two parts, it’s bad news. That started happening with today’s event days ago. New it was a non event for Lancaster County.

    I lost interest on the Monday/Tuesday thing 3 or 4 days ago. I never really believed the snow or ice that was being shown on models (at least for LSV). More interest for Thursday. I do feel there will be a good thump of snow. Just how much and how long we hold on will be the key. We will switch over to sleet or sleet/freezing rain and over to drizzle/dry slot. .

    Freezing rain is just rain. I hate tracking rain events in the winter. Sleet sucks too but is better than rain. .

    This is moving towards a mostly snow event. I’ll gladly take some sleet on top to preserve the pack. .

    I know you have been preaching climo for years on this board. It is one of the best predictors and IMO a more valuable tool than models. Very much agree with everything said above. .
