Around 3” here in East Montpelier, the majority overnight.  Snow was in the air all day but didn’t amount to much more.  Mountains needed this boost heading into the Holiday weekend.

We came down to Hanover for the Dartmouth/Clarkson hockey game and there was a constant line of headlights heading north on 89.

7” at home, seems to be a jackpot locally as everywhere I’ve been today has less.

So nice to see winter back in the valley. Is it just me or did we used to get way more of these fluffy clippers?

Not sure what Waterbury had but it was more than the 2” I had at home. Maybe 4”?  These type of set ups always disappoint me. I sit in my office in Waterbury and watch it snow most of the day and then head home looking forward to more snow just to see partly cloudy with scattered flurries and snow showers by the time I get to Barre Town. The thing is, intellectually I know that’s what happens but I always fool myself.

Give me a couple more shots at some snow…then it can go to 70 degrees for all of March at this point…I’m fine with it.  And I am not upset about when anything may, or may not end.

But as Will added, we know how the spring is in SNE…and most times it ain’t good.  So I’ll enjoy the last month of winter whatever it brings(70’s, or snow, or both).

That 24th system looks decent on the ensembles however currently… could be interesting as we go along for winter enthusiasts as Tip would say.

I have always said I'd like it to be balls to the walls winter up until about March 15th and then it can flip a switch.  Mud season is useless to me.  No riding, no golf, nuthin'.  Get me straight to useful weather.

Two storms this winter is about what most expected, a week of winter in Jan with a storm and another ongoing week now with a very similar storm just displaced 100 miles or so south.  Upstate NY to NNE have seen nothing for months which is really amazing and that doesn't look to change at all going into March.  Just an historically bad winter, last year was MUCH better overall for the Northeast.  Most Ski resorts finished normal to above normal, not a chance this winter.  The best month for the ski resorts was November...think Jay had 100 before December this year...

I don't know how to respond to this without sounding like I'm saying this winter has been good, it hasn't.  But you should at least tell truth.  January was pretty active and my last snowfall was on January 28th.  January was a torch but it managed to snow.  Again, I'm not trying to dispute that winter has not been good but please get your info straight.

This afternoon I received a text that we’d been put under a Winter Weather Advisory in association with the upcoming clipper system, and the latest BTV NWS maps are below. Our point forecast comes in around 5” to 8” of snow accumulation through Friday night, which generally lines up with the Event Total Snowfall map having us in the darkest blue 4-6” shading, but fairly proximal to the yellow 6-8” shading. Checking the point forecasts in the Bolton-Stowe-Smugg’s stretch of the spine just to our north, I’m seeing projected accumulations through that period top out in the 4-10”/5-11” range, which is where they’ve put that concentration of yellow shading.

I wonder why I don't get those text alerts?  Anyway, nice to see a slight uptick and the advisory.

Sitting at 39" STD. Gonna really need some help here soon because we're rapidly falling behind. Over two weeks with no measurable snow in the heart of climo in NNE snow country is bad, no way around it.

36.7" here, But i would rather see your area NW start cashing in, Its over before it even started for local riding and has been that way for a few years now, But lets get the foothills and mountains to get some, I would like to ride a few more weeks.

I'm sitting at 60", which is decent but as we know, it doesn't matter if it melts and snows again.  I need some semblance of cold and retention.  I think our club has groomed twice.  There was some riding up until Thursday or Friday of last week.  Its really limited now.  I think there is some that could still be salvaged but we need more than an inch or two from a couple of clippers.

I can tell you don't settle for 90% or even 99%! Get into totality as it is a different world! I will be in Texas for this one. In 2017 I was on the centerline in South Carolina.

You should be skiing at Smuggs for this!

  Not gonna happen but the fact that it gives you double digits while has a sleet pocket over a hilltop in Tolland is amusing.

I don’t care about the back and forth between SNE posters or jackpotting or even getting advisory level snows. I would, however, like a couple of inches like this shows just to reestablish a wintry vibe. There is no denying that it’s been an out and out torch but I’ve been surprised how resilient the snowpack has been here in my immediate area. It would be nice to pretty it up a bit.
