90 imby…..

I heard some people talking about how we go from winter to Summer with no Spring now...I think it's because of short memories...tomorrows highest temperatures came a week after some cold May days... record max... 90 in 1906...on 5/10 the max was 52 and the min 44... 90 in 1936...on 5/15 the min was 44...it was in the 90's before that earlier in the month... 89 in 1962...on 5/8 the max was 49 and the min 43...42 on 5/9... 88 in 1877...0n 5/11 it was 42 on 5/11...50/43 on 5/10... 88 in 1977...on 5/9 the max/min was 44/36 with wet snow and rain...

The max in NYC so far today is 48...the record low max is 49 set in 1914...it was in the mid 90's two weeks later in 1914...I would not mind that happening again...1914 was not a hot summer but its hottest temperatures came in late May and around the first day of fall...

I think it's a good thing it wasn't this week...

I think we get some heat after the negative ao and nao breaks down...both are forecast to be negative for a while...

NYC had a max of 48 on this date in 2010...the record is 47 set in 1882...tomorrows record low max is 49 set in 1914...temps hit the mid 90's later that month...

NYC finally got into the 40's this morning...was 48 the last hour...the record high min for May is 49 so that record still stands...

the last three Mays had at least two 90+ days...1964 and 1987 had four each...1991 had five...we could see 90 by the end of the month...or close to it...

the raw part is right but temperatures are averaging above normal this Spring...NYC has not had a day below 50 so far this month...the record high May max is 49...2019 could set the record for the warmest May max on record...there is a chance temperatures could get below 50 before the month ends but not much below that I think...

May usually has a few cold mornings when the heat is needed...I remember a cold day in June 1982 when the max was only 55...NYC has not had temperatures below 40 in May since 1978... in 2002 it was 100 imby in the Westerleigh section of Staten Island...it was 90 imby in the Bulls head section in late March 1998...1976 reached 96 in April in NYC and it was the hottest temperature of the year...2009 had its hottest temp of the year in April and tied in August...the only years when April had the hottest annual temperature...

some years the cold hung on until June 1st...1961 and 1967 had cold rain around Memorial Day with snow north...both times it got hot in June fast and furious...1966 had a cold May also with snow in the far northern regions...it hit 101 in June 1966...

it's amazing you can be ten degrees colder than Central Park because of their heat island effect...I was 28 this morning near the water...
