    I actually think the HRRR is decent inside 24 hrs. I've found it useful for trends etc. Maybe it doesn't nail the placement of cells perfectly, but overall I like it. The other night for example...it had these random downpours develop after midnight. It was strange to see at that time of night from a cold front sliding south. Sure enough, they popped especially just south of me.

    Well they are modeling what they think. Perhaps there are some clouds...who knows. Sometimes there are situations where you sort of recognize a scenario like what Wiz and Tip described and take the over. Even for this heatwave I think Euro 2M temps were 99-100 at BOS when the high was 102. It's not egregious, but it matters.

    I agree….i see it too. I guess it didn’t quite get my attn yet. It’s been a good forecast to always hedge warmer….hell not just in summer too, but I won’t go there. Solid summer weather on the way for the foreseeable future.

    I’d like to see more of a trough into the Rockies like this last heat burst. I do think a piece could break off though. Ridge builds more towards the Rockies and west coast around day 10, but then slowly retros so that it may open up the door to the Gulf of Mexico at the end of the 11-15 day. Note I’m just looking at the EPS.

    85-88 Sunday for us. But 85-90 will be the range overall during that stretch. Might get a 91-92 Monday or Tuesday is we’re lucky. Take off several for higher elevations obviously.

    Just give me some good summer weather. The only ones who like this shit are the two or three gremlins that start shaking and frothing at the mouth when the sun comes out and it’s warmer than 70.
