I mean it doesn’t have to be Arctic. But like Will said, we haven’t held a good high in place. Even with this one, it’s a track that 98/100 times I wouldn’t worry about temps. I feel like I’m beating a dead horse with this, but man it’s frustrating.

18z GFS has about .6" to BOS vs like .9". Wasn't a massive jump south, but it did move in that direction.

Blows for BOS. You aren't getting 10:1 snows. It's probably like 2-3" at BOS.

I noticed a small change at H5 is really have an effect on the precip shield. The low MSLP itself didn't shift 80 miles or something like that.

You can see the HRRR and lack of dynamics when it's rain at BOS and snow at MVY.

Adjustments? Sure. I'm not saying adjustments mean 200 miles shifts.

It's possible the euro is too far south with the QPF, but also possible we see the GFS and NAM make south adjustments.

There's no real cold so even with the trends, it doesn't help a whole lot. Certainly better than it going over the canal for sure. The other thing is that if this somehow does shift and brings the best moisture only to the south coast, that hurts. Need the rates to help with the wetbulbing. I'm hoping this is finally a good storm for once. It's literally been 2 years of looking at models and feeling disappointed.

Scooter knows his setups. This is the 80th time in two years with another garbage airmass to start. I was thinking 5-8 this morning. Maybe it could be higher, but it probably will take awhile to get going.
